THE SUPPLYING POWER OF GOD

Scripture: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (Ephesians 3:20)

Most power plants use one or more generators that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy in order to supply power to the electrical grid that we use in society.

Electrical grids vary in size from covering a single building to even national grids that cover entire countries to transnational grids which can cover an entire continent.

A POWER PLANT is an industrial facility that generates electricity from primary energy.

Primary energy is an energy form found in nature that has not been subjected to any human engineered conversion process;

Just like Primary Energy the POWER that worketh in us cannot and has not been subjected to any human contact., power within us is the combined power of all that God has put in us:

⇒ the power of the Spirit strengthening us

⇒ the power of Christ indwelling us

⇒ the power of love working in us

⇒ the power of understanding all that God does through us and,

⇒ the power of the fullness of God Himself

Types of Power

1. Icktoose (ischus is-khoos’) - Physical power , its used 9 times in the bible 9 times.

Mark 12:30 - and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength:

2. Exousia (deligated or given authority)

Luke 10:19 - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you;

And what we find here this morning in our text as Paul has written to the Church at Ephesus is Dunamis Power!

3. Dunamis - dunamis [doo’-nam-is]; force (literally or figuratively); miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself): —  ability, abundance, meaning, might, miracle working power;

Paul’s comment about Divine power rebukes as well as encourages, He says:

“ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”

POINT #1 -THE SOURCE OF POWER -

“Him." This is God’sPOWER.

Man’s power cannot compare to the POWER of God.

Job 26:7 tells that God’s POWER so beoond this world that he had the POWER to create the universe, to hang the Sun, Moon, and the Stars on abosultley nothing;

I have to say this, If society were to judge some of our prayers on how great God is they would often think that God is small based on what we ask for,

God give me good man, you don’t treat the one you got with no respect.

God give me anamzing women, the one you have you never tell her she’s beautiful, she’s appreciated, and you don’t take her no where.

God bless me with a new car, and you dont take care of the one you got!!!

POINT#2 —THE SIZE OF POWER

"Exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think.” God’s power is greater than two things here. The two things are request or rationale. We have never asked God for more than His power could deliver:

- “exceedingly”: to surpass; to go beyond any request; to overcome and do anything

• “abundantly”: to overflow and to do more than enough

• “above”: to go over and beyond, surpassing any need

• “all that we ask”

• all that we can think!!!

POINT# 3—SHARING OF POWER

“According to the power that works in us.” God is willing to share His power by working powerfully in us.

CONCLUSION

Philippians 2:13

for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Isaiah 26:12

Lord, You will establish peace for us,

Since You have also performed for us all our works.

Hebrews 13:21

equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Philippians 1:6

" Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
