24 hrs he will be on the cross
then He is going to the Father in Heaven
they will be left
the disciples are unsure of themselves
loosing their mentor, friend, protector
right now they are afraid, not sure about the future
they don’t know how they will manage
will they go back to their old life?
Jesus is here to reassure them and teach them, and continue to promise the Holy Spirit
Jesus here says that the Works that I do

Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in me, the works that I am doing he will do also, and he will do greater works than these because I am going to the Father.
What are these works?
we want to assign these great works to miracles
healings, walking on the water, feeding the 5000, calming the storm, getting tax money out of fish,
but if all these great miracles are done and people still go to hell what is the purpose
And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” So he said to them, “I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will ever harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are inscribed in heaven.”
On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many miracles in your name?’ And then I will say to them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’
What is the most important work in history
So they said to him, “What shall we do that we can accomplish the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God: that you believe in the one whom that one sent.”

Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in me, the works that I am doing he will do also, and he will do greater works than these because I am going to the Father.
a believer is some one who is regenerated by the Holy spirit to a new life, born again
now able to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved
a believer is someone who has put their complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save them from their sin
a believer is someone who has turned away from their own way to Heaven to the only way to heaven

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
in the authority of Jesus, not in our own
Pray as if Jesus was praying
The Father is Glorified
what are you praying for?
is this a selfish prayer, or a spirit led prayer
Jesus lived a poor life, died a criminals death, for the Father's glory
every thing Jesus did was the Father working through Him
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works.
Again this comes back to being filled with the Spirit
And do not be drunk with wine (in which is dissipation), but be filled by the Spirit,
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God,
Jesus knows the Fathers will and does it perfectly.
How close are we to Jesus?
How much are we allowing the Holy Spirit to control us?

If you love me
and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he commanded us. And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us.
The 2 greatest Commandments
We need to be saved, Love God

what ever we ask we recieve if we keep His commandments
and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing in his sight.
do we want to bring souls into the Kingdom
we need to be a believer
we need to ask in the name of Jesus
we need to love Jesus and keep His commands
And we need the
Holy Spirit

Jesus most important mission of the Advocate coming to give us power to evangelize
But when he—the Spirit of truth—comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will proclaim to you the things to come.
The Holy spirit will teach us
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name—that one will teach you all things, and will remind you of everything that I said to you.

it does not need any special anointing

Any Christian can be involved
are we asking for it
Praying like Jesus
or like Jesus taught
And he said to them, “Who of you will have a friend, and will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine has come to me on a journey, and I do not have anything to set before him.’ And that one will answer from inside and say, ‘Do not cause me trouble! The door has already been shut and my children are with me in bed! I am not able to get up to give you anything.’ I tell you, even if he does not give him anything after he gets up because he is his friend, at any rate because of his impudence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.
Come Boldly before the throne of grace
don’t take no for an answer
Please, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer of your servant that I am praying before you by day and by night for your servants, the Israelites, and confessing the sins of the Israelites that we have sinned against you. I and my father’s house have sinned.
Are you listening to me God , do you see me?
Give ear, O God, to my prayer, and do not hide yourself from my plea.
