The Sanctity of Life

Regardless of the arena, every message is filtered through the messenger delivering it. If the messengers actions support the message, the message is received and respected. If the messengers actions do not support the message then it is rejected and disregarded. Let me illustrate; this past Thursday President Biden held his first press conference. Questions arose concerning the border crisis at the southern border. He stressed it was a matter of “Human dignity.” The problem is one of his first actions within the first hour of his presidency was to authorize the murder of innocent babies by abortion. True human dignity does not murder innocent babies.

In contrast, God’s Word- the Bible - is straightforward and accurately describes the days in which we live. Open your Bibles to II Timothy 3:1-5

God is the source of life. (Acts 3:15) Therefore life is a gift from God. Gen.2:7 tells us God “breathed into Adam the breath of life.” Ps. 36:9 says “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” Since man does not have the ability to create life he does not have the authority to destroy it. Unfortunately, over the last 6,000 years there have been numerous cultures and people groups that have devalued life

Consequently, the sanctity of life has been marginalized and even cancelled.

The human body is a marvel of Divine engineering. Take the brain for instance; It records facts, sounds, odors, sights, touch, pain with the ability to recall, with its power to make computations and endless ability to make decisions and solve problems.

1st Degree-Premeditated murder. It is willful (intentional), deliberate, and premeditated

2nd Degree- unpremeditated murder where the defendant intended to inflict grievous bodily harm but not death

The act or practice of ending the life of an individual suffering from a terminal illness or an incurable condition.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian( 1928-2011) aka “Dr Death.” Popularized the quote “Death is not a crime.” Assisted 130 people with terminal illnesses in ending their lives. He was convicted of murder in 1999. Served 8 years of his 25 year prison sentence. He was paroled on June 1,2007on the condition he would not offer advice, participate or be present in the act of any type of suicide involving euthanasia to any other person.

Terry Shavio(1963-2005) in 1998 at age 35 she had irreversible brain damage. Her husband -Michael Shavio wanted to take her off life support and being fed by feeding tube. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States. on March 19,2005 they removed her feeding tube and 13 days later-16 years ago next Wednesday she died.
