The King of Glory

Today we are celebrating Palm Sunday, Jesus Triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The first day of Holy week
Mokuaikaua is here to share the “good news” that God loves you, that He forgave you in Jesus, He is not angry with you, God loves you.
Psa 24:6 This is the generation (description) of those who diligently seek Him and require Him as their greatest need, Who seek Your face, even [as did] Jacob. [Psa_42:1] Selah.
Psa 24:7 Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in.
Psa 24:8 Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.
Psa 24:9 Lift up your heads, O gates, And lift them up, ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in.
Psa 24:10 Who is [He then] this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory [who rules over all creation with His heavenly armies]. Selah.
King David prophetically spoke about Jesus, The Lord of Host, the King of Glory

1 Let the king of Glory come inn,

Jesus came not only to be the king of Israel but the King of our souls.
God in His great love for us sent us His son, to save us, to set us free, to reconcile us to himself.
Jesus came to destroy the works of satan.
1Jn 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Sin will always harm us all the way to the point of killing us.
I just finished a book by John Bevere, killing Kryptonite.
Where he compares us to superman the popular comic book superhero. It was created by two teenagers in high school in 1933.
The superhero came from another planet, the sun renewed his strength and superpowers, but when exposed to a rock from his own planet, called kryptonite would make him weak and confused and could actually kill him if exposed for a long period of time.
When we come to Jesus we are empowered by the Holy Spirit, we receive power and authority, and we can do and pray for some amazing supernatural things, God in us walking among men.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
But sin, our willful disobedience of God’s word and will, is our kryptonite, takes our strength away, our sharpness of mind, our ability to see in the spirit, our discernment. When we are exposed for a long period of time, we become slaves addicted to sin what leads us to death, spiritually, mentally and physically. We need to understand how destructive sin is and how it can disguise in so many ways.
The good news is that Jesus is the only one able to break the power of sin over us, set us free, and welcome us into the kingdom of God.
He stands at the door and knocks.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

2 This is how the word of God describes Jesus.

Zechariah’s prophecy was fulfilled when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, 500 years later.
Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O Daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King (Messianic King) is coming to you; He is righteous and endowed with salvation, Humble and unassuming [in submission to the will of the Father] and riding on a donkey, Upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.
A righteous king, having salvation, humble and unassuming.
So many people I talk too, have their own ideas about Jesus, some would like Him to be more compassionate, others more tolerant, more liberal. Is common to have a counterfeit Jesus, a made-up Jesus, by our own imagination. The Jesus that agrees with us and is ok with everything we want to do. Depending how deep our deception is, we can validate almost anything we do.
The people of Israel on that day want to make him their king, but many in that crowd had their own agenda for him.
Jesus is who He says He is, and He will not change,
He is a righteous King, He is Holy, full of mercy and grace
He is one with the Father, we need to get to know Him.
Luk 19:37 As soon as He was approaching [Jerusalem], near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the entire multitude of the disciples [all those who were or claimed to be His followers] began praising God [adoring Him enthusiastically and] joyfully with loud voices for all the miracles and works of power that they had seen,
Luk 19:38 shouting, "BLESSED (celebrated, praised) IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! Peace in heaven and glory (majesty, splendor) in the highest [heaven]!" [Psa_118:26]
Luk 19:39 Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples [for shouting these Messianic praises]."
Luk 19:40 Jesus replied, "I tell you, if these [people] keep silent, the stones will cry out [in praise]!" [Hab_2:11]
Jesus gives us opportunities throughout our life time, to make Him our Lord and King, He wants to be part of our lives, be involved in everything we do.

3 His love for us.

Luk 19:41 As He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it [and the spiritual ignorance of its people],
Luk 19:42 saying, "If [only] you had known on this day [of salvation], even you, the things which make for peace [and on which peace depends]! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
Luk 19:43 For a time [of siege] is coming when your enemies will put up a barricade [with pointed stakes] against you, and surround you [with armies] and hem you in on every side, [Isa_29:3; Jer_6:6; Eze_4:2]
Luk 19:44 and they will level you to the ground, you [Jerusalem] and your children within you. They will not leave in you one stone on another, all because you did not [come progressively to] recognize [from observation and personal experience] the time of your visitation [when God was gracious toward you and offered you salvation]."
I believe the same offer is before us today.
Israel rejected King Jesus, they crucified him.
Less than 40 years after this opportunity was given to Israel, in 70 A.D., Jesus words was fulfilled, although was not recorded in the new testament, 600 thousand Jews were killed and thousands more were lead away into captivity, this happened After 143 days of siege by the Roman army under the leadership of Titus.
For 60 years after the destruction of Jerusalem they had no history.
During the year of 134 A. D. another rebellion arose, and they were crushed, during this time even the foundations of the city were plowed up.
We would see something different if they had welcome Jesus as their King. Their lord and savior
I believe our Heavenly Father can see the days ahead of us, for some he is crying, for others He is smiling.
Jesus is our Noah’s Arch, of today, his invitation is out of love and great compassion for us, He wants us to be free from our sins and whole, our own ways and selfishness destroys us, Yes a new earth and a new Heaven will come for those who welcome Him, but everything else will be destroyed.
Rev 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Today Jesus is giving us the opportunity to welcome him as our King of Glory.
Would you celebrate king Jesus with me today by repenting of our sins and asking Jesus to be our Lord and King?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:16
To receive Jesus we need to accept Him as God’s son, repent from our sins and a life of selfishness, asking Him to be your Lord and savior, not that you deserve it, but is a gift from God.
If this is your desire today, please repeat this prayer after me?
Heavenly Father I’m sinner, I’m sorry for my sins, I’m willing to turn away from my sins.
I receive Christ as my savior,
I confess him as Lord
from this moment on I want to follow and serve him,
in the fellowship of his church,
In Jesus name. Amen!
