Gardens of God - The Restoration
Gardens of God - The Restoration
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.
6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
This is part 4 of a 4 part message about the Gardens of God. God uses numerous ways to show the plan of salvation. One way is through gardens. God uses 4 gardens to demonstrate the plan of salvation.
The first garden was the Garden of Eden, garden of beginnings. This is where everything was created perfect. Then sin entered the world. Paradise was lost.
The second garden was the Garden of Gethsemane, garden of sufferings. Jesus was abandoned by those closest to Him. Jesus asked the Father to not have to go to the cross, but an angel was sent to strengthen Him.
The third garden was the Garden of Victory. It has no name. Sometimes victory comes in the most unlikely places. This where the chains of sin and death were broken and we are granted access to the Father.
This is the fourth garden. The Garden of Restoration. This will take place in two parts.
Today is Palm Sunday. We celebrate the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem as King. A King who will lay down His life for His creation.
8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”
There is coming a day when He will come again as King. This time it will be different. He will come back to conquer and restore.
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
The Restoration Begins:
Ezekiel 40-48 describes a temple. This will be the temple during the millennial reign of Christ. There are some interesting verses about this.
2 In the visions of God He took me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain; on it toward the south was something like the structure of a city.
I think this would be narrowed down to two mountains: Mt Meron at 1,208 meters or Mt Hermon at 2,236 meters. I think it is Mt Hermon because its peak is so much taller.
To put it in perspective, the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is 2,722 feet tall. It would take more than 2 of these buildings, stacked on top of each other, to reach the peak of Mt Hermon.
The map shows Jerusalem is south from this mountain range.
1 Then He brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces toward the east, but it was shut.
2 And the Lord said to me, “This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it, because the Lord God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut.
3 As for the prince, because he is the prince, he may sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gateway, and go out the same way.”
This prince is Jesus Christ and notice He will come in from the east gate. Notice how this all follows prophecy.
4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
Jesus will stand on the Mt of Olives and then be able to walk from their to the east gate of the new temple.
Now for the first part of the restoration and the garden.
1 Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar.
Ezekiel goes on to describe at 1500 foot intervals, the depth of the water gradually increases until it is too deep to walk through.
12 Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”
This is not the final garden. This is only for 1,000 years. Next comes the final garden. The complete restoration.
15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
The height is hard to imagine; 1,380 miles wide and 1,380 miles tall. This would be like stacking the Burj Khalifa 2,676. There is another way to visualize it. The thermosphere starts at 84 miles above the surface of the earth and extends to 372 miles. This is the area where the satellites are. The New Jersualem will extend another almost 1,000 miles into outer-space. If we looked at this width wise, 1,380 miles from Holden would take you deep into the Baxter State Park in the State of Maine to Dewey Soper Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Canada to Richardson River Dunes Wildland In Canada
God has brought everything full circle. What sin tried to destroy, God has restored. Praise God. Palm Sunday will lead to the Garden of Victory which foreshadows the gardens of restoration.
Make a way for the King
The King is coming
Empty hearts are filling up
Wicked ways are coming undone
Every eye is looking out for You
City lights are burning out
Freedom's song is ringing loud
Dead men waking up to the sound of You
And all our hearts can sing
All our hearts can sing is
Make a way for the King
The King is coming
Split the sky with your glory
Bring to life an awakening
Burn away everything that's not for You
