Exodus 12:1–12 ESV

1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, 2 “This month shall be for you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year for you. 3 Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor shall take according to the number of persons; according to what each can eat you shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, 6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight. 7 “Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. 8 They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted on the fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but roasted, its head with its legs and its inner parts. 10 And you shall let none of it remain until the morning; anything that remains until the morning you shall burn. 11 In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.

Slaves, Sacrificial Lamb and the Story of Redemption (Exodus 12)

They were Slaves to a Sinful Nation

They Were Special in the Eyes of God

Their Story of Redemption passes through SACRIFICE and JUDGMENT

Jesus, our Passover

1 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Carefully Chosen (John 1: 29 - Behold the Lamb of God, that Takes away the Sin of the World…)

Elaborately Examined (Luke 20:20-47; Herodians, Sadducees, Scribes, and Pharisees - for 4 days in the temple…)

Luke 21:37–38 ESV

37 And every day he was teaching in the temple, but at night he went out and lodged on the mount called Olivet. 38 And early in the morning all the people came to him in the temple to hear him.

Luke 23:14–15 ESV

14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people. And after examining him before you, behold, I did not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him. 15 Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, nothing deserving death has been done by him.

Deliberately Delivered (Luke 22-23)

the chief priests and scribes are SEEKING (22:1);

Judas is BETRAYING (22:3-6);

Jesus is PREPARING (22:14-22);

the Disciples are DEBATING 22:23-24);

Peter is DENYING (22:31-34; 22:54-62);

Jesus is PRAYING (22:39-46);

the Officers are ARRESTING (22:47-54);

The people and the leaders are ACCUSING (22:66-71);

The Soldiers are MOCKING 22:63-64);

Pilate and Herod are DETERMINING (23:1-24) ;

The People who had been PRAISING are now DEMANDING HE BE DELIBERATELY DELIVERED (23:18-23)

Solemnly Sacrificed (Luke 23:26-49; Exodus 12:6-12)

Exodus 12:12 - ​The FIRSTBORN Struck; JUDGMENT executed

Romans 3:23–26 ESV

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

The Devil and his followers, both angels and fallen man are DEAD in TRESPASSES, JUDGED and Ultimately DOOMED...

BUT those who Repent - That is to BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST - CHRIST has been judged in our place and:

Romans 8:1 ESV

1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

His Solemn Sacrifice has allowed you to be Deliberately Delivered!

Will YOU Triumphantly Enter into Heaven?
