My eyes are on Jesus
My heart is tuned to His Spirit
My ears are listening to His voice
My mind will believe what He says
My voice will declare the truth of His word
Today, we’re going to change things a little. Instead of speaking on the gift of
miracles, I felt the Lord lead me to share on the gifts of healings first.
Luke 6:6-11 NKJV
'Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue
and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the
scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the
Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him. But He knew their
thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, “Arise and stand
here.” And he arose and stood. Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one
thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to
destroy?” And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man,
“Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole
as the other. But they were filled with rage, and discussed with one another
what they might do to Jesus.'
In the book of Matthew, we see the following statement at the end of this
story ->
Matthew 12:15 NKJV
'But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes
followed Him, and He healed them all. '
Jesus desires for us to receive total healing or “sozo” healing. As I thought
about this I was reminded of Kintsugi.
Kintsugi is a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas
of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver or
platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of history of
an object, rather than something to disguise.
Romans 8:28 NKJV
'And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are the called according to His purpose. '
Main Point - Your brokenness is beautiful to Him. Does He
want you to experience it? No, but He is able to take it and
use it for His glory and your good.
Always The Plan
Psalms 103:1-12 NKJV
'Bless the Lord , O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord , O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all
your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from
destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who
satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the
eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness And justice for all who are
oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of
Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in
mercy. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to
our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His
mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far
has He removed our transgressions from us.'
James 5:13-16 NKJV
'Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him
sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the
church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the
Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to
one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective,
fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. '
He Healed All
Did you notice that it says gifts of healings? Because there are multiple ways
we can be healed, we need each other and the unity in Christ to heal all just
as He did.
Matthew 9:35-36 NKJV
'Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the
multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were
weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. '

The Same Power
Romans 8:11 NKJV
'But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He
who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
through His Spirit who dwells in you.'
As I thought about this verse, I thought about the instances in the word
where Jesus was “too late” according to the people present.
They thought He missed it! Then look what He did!!
– Jairus’ Daughter - a few hours, he took her by the hand.
– Widow’s son at Main - a day or more, touched the coffin and told him to
get up.
– Lazarus - dead 4 days. Spoke aloud and told Him to rise and come out.
He’s always on time - sometimes what we need is for death and resurrection
to happen within us.
What About ____?
I find it interesting that even in the town where the Bible said there wasn’t
much faith (so that He did no miracles or great work) he still healed some!
Mark 6:5 NKJV
'Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a
few sick people and healed them. '
So, you may have been asking yourself, what about this person or situation.
God didn’t heal them, why?
What about the apostle Paul?
II Corinthians 12:8-9 NKJV
'Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might
depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My
strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather
boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. '
I think it’s these questions that God wants to hear, but since His ways and
thoughts are higher than ours, He’s the only one qualified to answer. Anyone
else would be guessing.
Instead, I’ve chosen to resolve my heart in 3 things:
● Is He able?
● Is He willing?
● Will I let Him?
Now, I am sure you’ve heard or thought the first two, but I think the last one
has you thinking can anything stop God? Without making your head hurt too
bad, in a few areas I think the answer is YES. When it comes to salvation, it’s
a choice He’s given. So, if we chose not to accept His free gift, it breaks His
heart but He won’t force us. I believe the same occurs with healing. Some
wear it like a badge of honor, some claim it every day (hoping that others will
hear and pay attention to them), others want to TELL GOD how He should
heal and when and where, etc.
So, the last one, for me, is the most difficult. Will I relinquish control and just
give it to Him. I may find myself asking or reminding Him (as if He doesn’t
know), but stopping there. Then moving into believing He will, ready to
celebrate the miracle. It may not come how I would’ve expected, but He will
do it and I will be praising Him before, during and after it all.
