Palm Sunday is the royal procession of Jesus’s coronation, kicks off most important week for Christians (WORLD)
Palm Sunday shows Jesus’s Supreme Sovereignty, Unending Reign, Divine Glory

Presidents inaugurated, Kings coronated, even dictators have military parades

But on Palm Sunday, no one realized what they were truly witnessing
In matter of week, Jesus’ reign would span heaven to hell
Events of Holy week would alter eternity, fate of all creation

Holy week was no accident; Jesus was in control the whole time.
Palm Sunday marks beginning a new reign
Worldly authority derived/forced from consent of governed
But crowds didn’t have to understand; therein lies the beauty
This Kingdom is different: not dependent on anyone but Jesus
Nothing can prevent it/stop it; inevitable; supremely sovereign

There are limits to power & we feel burden of that every day

Crowds may have waved palm branches to incite revolution against Rome, but Jesus meant for a revolution of whole world
Donkey was a provocative political act: royal mount kings rode when they didn’t need a war horse: Peace! Conquest! Victory!
Palm Sunday is Jesus staking claim to an Unending Reign
No end to His borders, sea to sea, every person subject
No threat to His power, no war & peace among nations
No term limit to His reign, begins this week for eternity

Jesus isn’t in it for corrupt glory of the world
For Jesus, glory is found in gore of cross: His blood, your sins flow mingled down
Jesus chooses to glory in making you righteous.
He is the innocent one who hangs accused; takes all allegations, corruption, & hypocrisy on Himself
His throne is a cross, robe is your sin, rings are nails, scepter is a spear in side, crown is thorns, coronation is public execution
His highest kingly act, Divine Glory is to take your sin, give you life
Jesus enters Palm Sunday that you may believe He is the King whose reign is sovereign, unending, divine

On this Palm Sunday, we are new crowd gathered to witness coronation of our King. We know where this week leads.
On this Palm Sunday, you live in a new era where forgiveness and resurrection rule the day
It’s coronation day! And the Lamb is reigning on His throne.
