FROM SANCTIFIED TO SALVATION

TEXT:

13 But now in Christ Jesus iye who csometimes were jfar off are made nigh kby the blood of Christ. 14 For lhe is our peace, mwho hath made both one, and hath nbroken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph 2:13-14

5  But ohe was ||pwounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities:

qThe chastisement of qqour peace was upon him;

And rswith his †stripes we are healed.

6  rtAll we like sheep have gone astray;

tWe have turned every one to his own way;

And uthe LORD †hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isa 52:5-6

13 For if athe blood of bulls and of goats, and bthe ashes of an heifer sprinkling cthe unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more dshall the blood of Christ, who ethrough the eternal Spirit foffered himself without ||gspot to God, hpurge your conscience ifrom dead works kto serve lthe living God?

- Hebrews 9:13-14
You may be seated
Notice the colon, there’s more to this phrase than just purification of the flesh. Indeed, Christ died on the cross to see you healed, but even more so sanctified.
With the help of the Lord, I’d like to preach to you for a short few moments: From Sanctified to Salvation

Sanctification Allows for Fellowship

Sanctification opens the door to continual fellowship with God.
The OT priests would wash in the brazen laver prior to entering the holy of holies.
In the OT the process of sanctification was that which must take place to become holy. Through the Holy Ghost, we may become sanctified!
All the sudden, we don’t go to those old places, hang out with our old crowds, and participate in the activities we once used to.
Yet, we get upset w/ God when he doesn’t answer prayers or bring about the healings we’ve been praying for…here is what God told Moses:

18 You shall make a bronze basin with a bronze stand for washing. You shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it; 19 with the waterd Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet. 20 When they go into the tent of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to make an offering by fire to the LORD, they shall wash with water, so that they may not die. 21 They shall wash their hands and their feet, so that they may not die: it shall be a perpetual ordinance for them, for him and for his descendants throughout their generations.

Exod 30:18-21
GOD HAS GRANTED YOU THE ABILITY TO DO MORE THAN SANCTIFY ON SUNDAY, HE’S GIVEN YOU THE ABILITY TO LIVE A LIFE PLEASING TO HIM!
Don’t worry about what so-and-so is saying out in left field! They didn’t save your soul!!!

Sickness within the Body

Upon arriving here at Life Tabernacle, Pastor gave me a very powerful book. Not quite the Bible, but I would call the author greatly anointed because he applied the Word, the blood, and had most definitely consecrated himself to a life set apart for Jesus, T.W. Barnes. The book is called If You Need Healing.
All week, I had been wrestling with God on a message that was directly for healing; however, early this morning, God said no. He directed me to specific chapter within this book called “Why Christians Get Sick.”
To clarify, I don’t know your situation. I know the great things God has been doing in our church though.
Paul speaks to the Corinthian church in regards to taking communion unworthily…however, before he arrives here, he addresses in issue within the church in 1 Cor 11:18:

18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, cI hear that there be ||divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

1 Cor 11:18
Paul then goes on to state the consequences of taking communion unworthily:

28 But ylet a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh ||damnation to himself, not zdiscerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many are weak and asickly among you, and many bsleep. 31 For cif we would djudge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, ewe are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

1 Cor 11:28-33
GOD will chastise us, in order to keep us from the condemnation of the world. In other words, He has the ability to correct us in this dreary world. When we run astray, He can call us back and even correct us when we are in the wrong.
Look at what Paul is addressing, however. Notice he is speaking to the chasm that had formed within the body?
The resolution was to tarry for one another…“when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.”
The greek word used here is ἐκδέχομαι (ek-dek-o-mai)
To stay in one place and anticipate or expect something
Paul was talking in terms of not coming to church and abusing the poorer folks…however, I also believe their is a powerful meaning in this passage that required the believers to stop coming to church for the wrong reasons. It called the believers to come to church to anticipate something greater…it called the saints to tarry for something beyond their money, food, and current blessings. Just as they did on the day of Pentecost, I believe Paul was calling the saints to tarry for the most unifying power on this earth, the Holy Ghost.
It is hard to serve others, when we can’t stop serving ourselves. It is also hard to serve God when we can’t stop serving ourselves.
Paul talks to this in 1 Cor 12 - often known as the chapter that lays out the gifts of the Spirit. However, I’d like to focus today on the ‘unity of the body’
Paul lists the various types of gifts, however, he brings his point home does the foot say, “because I’m not the hand, I am not of the body.”
In other words, some saints will say because I’m not so-and-so position, I’m not going to go to church. Or because I didn’t get my way, I’m not going to church.
This should not be so! Don’t lose the main point of coming to church…to connect with JESUS!!!
“God is calling his people from Division to Destiny in the last days”
While at times we may struggle with division within the church, it is important that his spirit is present and prepared to heal both the spiritual and physical man.

Sanctified by the Spirit

As 1 Cor 9:14 identified, Jesus, who was fully man and fully God, broke the chasm between sanctification and salvation.
You see, in the OT people could become sanctified through the blood of dead animals. However, when Jesus died on the cross, humanity could then receive true salvation.
It was through the ultimate sacrifice that all sins were dealt a finishing blow in the past, present, and future. Jesus had arrived and now the world would forever be changed!
Today, maybe we’re struggling with people. That is a real struggle!
Maybe we’re struggling with an ailment. That is a real struggle!
I’d like to encourage you that you don’t have to struggle any longer, but give both to Jesus! He’s already born salvation to your situation and your soul!
Maybe your struggling with addiction this morning and need deliverance! Jesus has died for those sins as well!
Maybe you’re fighting condemnation, wondering if God could forgive a wicked retch like me. He can!!!
Today, maybe your life feels as if it is collapsing under your feet - the same God that saved your soul, or is willing to, has already provided hope to fill your soul. Just reach out and take it!
The New Revised Standard Version The Gospel for Jews and Gentiles Alike

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 15:13
Jesus’ sacrifice is enough. It’s enough for your situation, sin, or even sickness. He’s present to heal!
1 Pet opens up with a salutation stating:

2 fElect according to gthe foreknowledge of God the Father, hthrough sanctification of the Spirit, unto iobedience and ksprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: lGrace unto you, and mpeace, be multiplied.

1 Pet 1:2
In other words, the blood applied has multiplied!

Closing

As the musicians come, I’d like to call you to an altar that does more than change your appearance or cover up sins. It erases the sickness. It erases the sins.
