Remaining steadfast in a crumbling world
Good Morning Church
Psalms 118 -24 -This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Today we sit here and we feel like its hopeless we see the world abandoning the one true God and taking up Gods and idols for themselves 2 Tim 4-1.5 4 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at[a] His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (NKJV)
You see church god only told Adam and eve 1 time not to eat from the tree of knowledge and because they did we have all be condemned by sin and if he say that something is detestable ( sin) to him or an abomination it is but the world is falling away and we become concerned jesus said that -
Luke 8-13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.
We need to be like
Luke 8-15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
We feel paralyzed, hopeless and we may be ready to
accept defeat but we must remember that this world will fade away and that this is not our home.
In John 16- 33. 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[d] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. – This world is fading away (1John 2.17) 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
You see church you can not be sitting here Sunday after Sunday and saying that you love God , Honor him and rely upon him for all your needs and be stressed by the world. But you must remember that your are not a citizen of this world but rather an alien 1 peter 2-11.12- 11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (NIV)
We must remember that God is coming but is patient with us so that all would repent and be saved
2 Peter 3-3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]
We need to confess our victories to the world and to other Christians and realize that God will give us victory again. Testifying sharpens us as Proverbs 27-17 As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another. (NIV)
Rev 12:11-12 , 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
Psalm 34 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.7 The angel[a] of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
Isaiah 41-10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
