History, Thessalonica was in Present day greece the capital of Roman Macedonia and had a very important trade route better than the city’s around them. One reason was the silting issues in Aegean Sea t harbors -Thessalonica didnt had this problem and was valuable to the trade marketing.
Paul visited Thessalonica on his secound missionary jorney. Paul wrote the first letter while in Corinth were he stayed a long time Acts 18:1-5 1 Thess 3:6 this however this was after his 3 plus Sabath week stay with the Thessalonians some time ago. Read Acts 17:1-10 to get a good understanding of Pauls stay there and why he and Silvaus had to leave. Also learne why Paul could not go back like he wanted to. Jason and Satan are both reasons why. 1 Thess 2:15-16 & Acts 17 Paul had much resistence durinHis preaching in the Synagogue- Paul had much resistence, because of the Jews, who were afraid of Paul, Silvanus string up trouble preaching another King Jesus is ruler and God! This however would not go well with their relationship with the Romans-just like it was for Jesus.
