Proverbios 14:15 KJV 1900
15 The simple believeth every word: But the prudent man looketh well to his going.
The Spanish RVG Bible is a revision of the Reina Valera 1909 not a new translation.
The primary sources referenced were the Reina Valera 1909, The Hebrew Masoretic, the Textus Receptus, and the KJV.
There is not a translation in existence that did not consult other translations.
The goal of the RVG was to bring the Spanish Bible into agreement with the Hebrew Masoretic, the Textus Receptus, and the KJV.
The RV1960 supporter that attacks the RVG for consulting the English KJV needs to look in the mirror.
The Reina Valera 1960 consulted multiple corrupt English Translations during its formation including the ESV, RSV, and ASV.
The influence of the ASV is very obvious in the RV1960
The word hell appears 54 times in the KJV. The word infierno (hell) appears 54 times in the RVG.
The word hell appears only 13 times in the ASV. It also appears only 13 times in the RV1960 and in the exact same places.
Matt 5:22, Matt 5:29, Matt 5:30, Matt 10:28, Matt 18:9, Matt 23:15, Matt 23:33, Mark 9:43, Mark 9:45, Mark 9:47, Luke 12:5, James 3:6, 2 Peter 2:4
The word unicorn appears six times in the Bible in Numbers 23:22, 24:8, Deut 33:17, Job 39:9, 10, Psalm 92:10.
A unicorn is an animal with one horn possibly a rhino or some extinct animal.
Job 39:9 KJV 1900
9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, Or abide by thy crib?
Job 39:9 ASV 1901
9 Will the wild-ox be content to serve thee? Or will he abide by thy crib?
Job 39:9 RVR60
9 ¿Querrá el búfalo servirte a ti, O quedar en tu pesebre?
Job 7:12 KJV 1900
12 Am I a sea, or a whale, That thou settest a watch over me?
Job 7:12 ASV 1901
12 Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, That thou settest a watch over me?
Job 7:12 RVR60
12 ¿Soy yo el mar, o un monstruo marino, Para que me pongas guarda?
We could give literally hundreds of examples where the RV1960 does not follow the KJV but rather follows the ASV, RSV, ESV, and other corrupt Bibles.
Why is it wrong for the RVG to consult the KJV in its revision process but not wrong for the RV1960 to consult the ASV, ESV, and RSV?
