IntroductionBodyv.24The theme of Jude has been, more than the disgusting nature of the apostate, the power of God to keep us from their influence. This verse is no exception. It forms a kind of inclusio with v.1Though the word is different, it emphasizes what v.1 declares: we are protected and kept for Christ by the Father. To remind us, consider these passages concerning God's protection of His beloved:
Psalm 27:3–6 (NASB95)
3 Though a host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I shall be confident.
4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord
And to meditate in His temple.
5 For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;
He will lift me up on a rock.
6 And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Psalm 34:4–7 (NASB95)
4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.
Psalm 34:15–22 (NASB95)
15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones,
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
Psalm 91:14–16 (NASB95)
14 “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 “With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.”
2 Samuel 22:1–3 (NASB95)
David’s Psalm of Deliverance
1 And David spoke the words of this song to the Lord in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
2 He said,
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3 My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge;
My savior, You save me from violence.
2 Samuel 22:31 (NASB95)
31 “As for God, His way is blameless;
The word of the Lord is tested;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
But for what does He keep you? We know that Jesus Christ will return. His return is described as "glory/-ious."OT-Daniel 7:13-14.Ezekiel 43:1–5 (NASB95)
Vision of the Glory of God Filling the Temple
1 Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing toward the east;
2 and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.
3 And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the vision which I saw when He came to destroy the city. And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
4 And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east.
5 And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.
Zechariah 14:1–9 (NASB95)
God Will Battle Jerusalem’s Foes
1 Behold, a day is coming for the Lord when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you.
2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.
3 Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.
4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.
5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!
6 In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle.
7 For it will be a unique day which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light.
8 And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.
God Will Be King over All
9 And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.
NT-Matthew 25:31 (NASB95)
The Judgment
31 “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.
Matthew 19:28 (NASB95)
28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
2 Thessalonians 1:5–10 (NASB95)
5 This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering.
6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.
Rev.19:11-17When He returns, there will be judgment/evaluation:Judgment for unbelievers-Matthew 13:49–50 (NASB95)
49 “So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous,
50 and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:31-33, 41-46.Evaluation for believers-Matthew 25:34-402 Corinthians 5:10 (NASB95)
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Romans 14:10-12.Conclusion:Revelation 22:12 (NASB95)
12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
Jeremiah 17:10 (NASB95)
10 “I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds.
Therefore, it must be told to you that when that day comes when you stand before Jesus Christ and examined by Him, you don't want to be anything less than holy, righteous, and justified. Our words are subject to examination:
Matthew 12:36–37 (NASB95)
36 “But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.
37 “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Our actions are subject to examination:
2 Corinthians 5:10 (NASB95)
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Jude, others, are saying that God's power is able to make a sinner able to stand before God's penetrating judgment and yet not be destroyed. Ephesians 5:25-27Titus 2:11-14Hebrews 13:12 (NASB95)
12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
1 John 3:1–3 (NASB95)
Children of God Love One Another
1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
We will stand before the Lord.Un-stumbled: God will keep you from been succumbed to ultimate apostasy.Blameless: You will appear clothed with Christ's righteousness and thus we will legally be presented to the Father as holy as He is!Great joy: we will enter His gates with thanksgiving and joy. This is ecstatic, exuberant, pure joy! There is joy with God, with the angels, and with you. What a wonderful thing to point out in reference to standing before the Lord.
v.25
Jude 25 (UBS4)
"(Now-borrowed from v.24) to God our only Savior because of Jesus Christ our Lord (be) glory, majesty, power, and authority before all of the age, and now, and into all of the ages, amen."
This is an interesting sentence. Jude is (at least in thought) borrowing from v.24, beginning with the conjunction, "Now." It is a sentence all its own. A true benediction. God is only One (Dt. 6:4). He alone is our Savior through the work of Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
To Him be:

New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (LaHabra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995).
What does this mean? What ties all of these substantives together? The eternal state/2nd coming of Christ and the Father.
Ezekiel 39:21 (NASB95)
21 “And I will set My glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed and My hand which I have laid on them.
The glory, eternally, belongs only to God. The avenue through which God is glorified is Jesus Christ, and all that He did. Majesty:
† μεγαλωσλωσύνη.
μεγαλωσύνη, biblical Gk. meaning “loftiness,” “majesty,” e.g., δότε μεγαλωσύνην τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν, Dt. 32:3; Sir. 39:15; cf. also: … κατὰ τὴν μεγαλωσὺνην τοῦ βραχίονός σου … ψ 78:11; cf. Prv. 18:10; Ep. Ar., 192.
The word is used in the NT for the divine name: ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν ἑψηλοῖς, Hb. 1:3; also 8:1; it occurs, too, in the great doxology in Jd. 24 f.: … δόξα μεγαλωσύνη κράτος …
, vol. 4, Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, ed. Gerhard Kittel, Geoffrey W. Bromiley and Gerhard Friedrich, electronic ed. (Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans, 1964-), 544.
This is the idea of greatness. Immense greatness. This is Dt. 3:24; 5:24; 32:3. This eternal majesty, again seen in the eternal state, is magnificent and fearful to behold.
Dominion:This is the display of the strength and power, in this case, of God. The extreme power and strength is most seen in Jesus Christ.
In the rest of the NT κράτος is rare and the circle of meanings is restricted. In Eph. 1:19 we read that τὸ ὑπερβάλλον μέγεθος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, the overwhelming greatness of the power of God as this is demonstrated in believers, is along the same lines as the outworking of the power of His might κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τοῦ κράτους τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ, as this is expressed in the resurrection of Christ, 1:20. Notwithstanding the synonymous nature of the various terms, which is in keeping with the stylistic peculiarity of Eph., one may say that κράτος denotes more particularly the outer aspect of the divine strength, perhaps its supremacy. κράτος τῆς ἰσχύος is again used in Eph. 6:10, this time with reference to the Lord Christ: ἐνδυναμοῦσθε ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κράτει τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ. In Col. 1:11 we have κατὰ τὸ κράτος τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ: the divine glory works effectually in the lives of believers.
κράτος also occurs in doxologies. It stands alone in 1 Pt. 5:11, is linked with τιμή and called αἰώνιον in 1 Tm. 6:16, occurs with δόξα in 1 Pt. 4:11; Rev. 1:6; 5:13 (with reference to the Lamb as well as God) and with ἐξουσία in Jd. 25. It denotes the superior power of God to which the final victory will belong.

See Ephesians 1:19-23, God has all power, might, and thus, dominion. Eph. 6:10Thus, the power, might, and authority all belong to Jesus Christ.Result of Daniel 7:9-14Which, in turn, is the result of Gen. 3;15 -> 49:10 -> Numbers 24:17-19 -> Ps. 2:7-9 -> Ps.89:23 -> Ps.110:5 -> Is. 2:5-11 -> is.9:6-7 -> Daniel 2:19-23 -> Zech.14:1-9 -> Romans 16:20 -> Lk. 4:14 -> Lk. 9:1-> 10:19 -> Mt. 28:19 -> Eph. 1;19-23 -> Heb.1:3 -> Rev.4;11 -> Rev.5;13.The establishement of all authority comes from God, is run-amok in Satan, and will return to God. The rebellion, in a real sense, is the misuse of power given by God to demonstrate His glory. Col. 2:15See also John 12:31; 1 Cor 15:24; Eph 3:10; Col 2:10.Esp. John 12:31Satan has been overpowered:Mt. 12:25-29
Revelation 12:7–10 (NASB95)
The Angel, Michael
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war,
8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
1 Peter 5:10–11 (NASB95)
10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Thus, if you do not believe in the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ, you cannot give people this hope!Authority:This is the right to command. Mt 11:27Mt. 28:18f.Acts 2:36The reality is that all of creation is built upon levels of authority. Rebellion is taking this authority given and using it to one's own ends. Jesus Christ did not do this. He used His authority faithfully as a Son (Heb. 3).
πρὸ παντὸς τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ νῦν καὶ εἰς πάντας τοὺς αἰῶνας, ἀμήν. "before all time and now and into all time/eternity, amen.""Before all time""before all time" (i.e. glory, majesty, dominion, and authority) existed in the godhead before Genesis 1:1.The triune God is a God of glory, majesty, dominion, and authority. He willed to express that authority etc… in this earth with a man and woman. Now…In the church, and in the world. His authority is felt and seen./He is glorified in the church.He is proven majestic in the church.He is given dominion within the church.He is given authority over the church.Eternity…Forever, God will reign.He will reign in the condition which He, Himself, created. By His own will, we will reign with Him.In Millennium-Rev. 3:21; 19:14; 20:4; 22:In eternity: Daniel 7:18, 27; Romans 5:17; Rev. 22:5; Conclusion
Thus, we end Jude. How can we summarize what Jude wants to teach? It would be this:
The Devil and his servants may storm the kingdom of God, but they can never wrestle from God the authority that is His. Therefore, since God's dominion is greater, Jesus Christ has won, the saints will reign, and Satan will die forever. Thus, we proclaim Christ, calling the saints to come and edifying the saints that exist for the pleasure and glory of God.
