NO: He’s the Christ

What does that mean?

Literally, “the anointed one”

It implies all of the things that Jesus is. He’s the Saviour of the world. he is the God man, both fully man and fully God. He is absolutely perfect and is completely God.

How does who Jesus is change what I do/am?

Jesus as the Christ means He has the ability to save you

You don’t have to try to make yourself good enough anymore

You already knew that you will continue to mess up and you could never be good enough, so he forgave you.

He saved you from death by dying Himself and completely beating death!

What is your response?

The symbol of His horrific death is a rallying cry to us, and a call to give our lives completely to Him.

We can give ourselves completely to Him.

You can let go of your existence as whatever you were (that we know wasn’t going to end up to be anything lasting, anything really of meaning) in exchange for a fuller life, a life that is better than we can ever imagine

Our response to the knowledge of Jesus’ love for us can only be to love Him fully. He told you that whoever is willing to give up their lives will get something so much better in exchange.
