Thesis: Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Jesus said that he was going away to prepare a place for you, that where he is there you may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Therefore before you can have heaven you must have Jesus who makes you prepared

Introduction: So much of this life is preparation. We prepare for everything. Preparation is in our DNA. After birth we begin the preparation cycle from laying to turning over, to bracing up, to crawling, to pulling up, to standing up, to walking, to talking. once we get here we begin preparing for school K-12. many just want those k-12 years of school inorder to be prepared for the workforce. college, advanced degrees, promotions certificates, jail, prison, the corner, homelessness.etc, etc, etc. What I’m trying to say is that we understand getting ready for whatever is next.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

all of them were headed to meet the bridegroom
but there was a distinction between them some where wise and some were foolish
the wise had the capacity to understand
the foolish were un wise and full of nonsense devoid of understanding
there will only be two categories: those who receive and believe the king and those who do not

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

How foolish can you be to believe that an oil lamp without oil is useful
Snoop Dog would say that you were caught slipping with your weapon on safety. NOTGLORIFYING GUNS AND VIOLENCE>SHOW SPIRITUAL MEANING
they took none with them: living for the moment
they had no view for the future; living unconcerned for their eternal realities
the wise took them some oil not only in their lamps but in their vessels also
when you have understanding you realize that you need oil if what you have runs out.
somebody called him the reserve tank; illustration
He is my stash; He is grace sufficient;exceeding abundance

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

their sleep was not condemned because both the wise and the foolish slept
but sleep in the Lord and being prepared with enough to oil is much different than going to sleep knowing that you aren’t prepared or even being concerned that you don’t have sufficient enough preparations
the cry came while they were sleep, after a long time and at midnight (when they least expected)
you never know when you will be called to manifest your readiness

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9

they woke up to trim their lamps or to put in order in anticipation of the wedding procession
they the foolish woke up to soak their rags in oil but there was no oil for them
the foolish’s lamps were running low and they would need mor oil to raise the flame
be careful of people who want your oil
many times what keeps us from being ready is we don’t want to prepare or remain prepared

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

the wise said we can’t do that. my preparedness is for me
the oil represents the gift of God given to all that will receive it
the foolish had oil before they went to sleep but while they slept either the oil they had in their rags had burned out . Even while we are walking in this world we are burning oil
the issue is that the giving of their oil was detrimental to both of them
my oil is for me and your oil is for you
don’t give up your birthright and allegience by giving up your profession to be prepared by being slothful, stagnant, blinded by this world, by pride, jealousy, envy, malice
but be ye stedfast and unmovable

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, pLord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

because they were unprepared and unable to get the others’ oil of preparation and identification they had to go and leave their task to get what they needed to fulfill their task
the problem was that it was too late “ we don’t like to talk about there being a “too late” with God.
when the cry went out it was too late
you won’t be identified because you don’t have any valid ID: driver’s license, social security card, or passport. you don’t even have any mail with your address on it
Jesus says I never knew you not only I know you not
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

I have talked about the foolish a lot but now I want to talk about those who have loved His appearing.
The bible says that they that were ready went in to the marriage with the bridegroom and the door was shut
that gives me joy because they were not shut out but shut in
they had been faithful over a few things now ruler over many
so don’t bee getting ready be ready
Jesus wasn’t getting ready he was born ready

1 IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me
