When DeConstruction is OK:

Dismantle Unnecessary Practices
Disengage from False Teaching
Disrupt Complacent Christianity
The issue that Bible believing followers of Christ face in the current cultural context, however, is that we seem UNWILLING or UNABLE to DEFEND Biblical Truth.
We allow DeConstructionists to whittle away at seeming inconsistencies, apparent inaccuracies and to question Biblical infallibility.
Most often, however, what is on display for us is the INCONSISTENT World View, the INACCURATE “new knowledge” (a.k.a neo-gnosticism) and the self-created INFALLIBILITY of the DeConstructionist.
1 Corinthians 1:26–29 ESV
26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
1 Corinthians 3:18–23 ESV
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 21 So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
A very popular YouTube personality from Ear Biscuits did a small summary about the conclusions he came to during his Faith DeConstruction,
He asked,
“If I don’t have to believe God ordered his people to slaughter thousands of men, woman and children, then why would I?”
“If I don’t want to believe that every religious experience of any person is NOT a Christian is ultimately not illegitimate, then why would I?”
“Why believe that God [sic] created hell and ordained fallen people who have no control over their on birth go go there...”
There was more to his monologue, but in essence he spells out several common objections to ANY belief in the Bible account of Creation, the Fall and Redemption, the Revealed God of Scripture and the seeming incoherence of the modern Christian experience.
There are three basic problems with the approach that he and his on-air co-host took in DeConstructing their Christian Faith...
#1 - Many who are moving into this DeConstruction of “faith” begin the journey because of a CRISIS.
We will not deal with this in depth today, but CRISIS are real, and are often the CATALYST for massive changes in Behavior and/or Thinking.
This is a problem, because a change of FOCUS initiated by CRISIS does not actually DeConstruct anything. It simply leaves us with an altered perception or perspective which is often completely SUBJECTIVE to our own reasoning.
#2 - The Questions that are posed by the Ear Biscuits team are MAN CENTERED… “If I don’t want to believe God… If I don’t want to believe every religious experience… Why believe...”
To give you a bit of DECONSTRUCTION of his questions, they all revolve around HIM. I don’t want to put him in a box, there is far more to his story, but the CLASSIC issue of focusing the story on HIMSELF is not something that we should simply let pass without a challenge… and since his co-host is walking a similar path I am not sure iron was sharpening iron in that case...
#3 - There is no real credence given in the modern scientific pontificating about evolution to a historical and therefore literal fall of man.
To the Skeptic, The Sin of Adam is simply a metaphor, and as such, can be explained away in the context of our modern understanding.
The problem is that once you DeConstruct The Biblical Adam of Genesis 2 and 3, Mark 10, Romans 5, and 1 Timothy 2, you likewise begin to unravel the Biblical second Adam, a.k.a Christ of Romans 5
At this point, you no longer have a BIBLICAL basis for sin and its ultimate restitution by the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You simply have UNORDERED and UNCREATED CHAOS…
Judges 21:25 ESV
25 In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
