In Order to Grow, You Got to Go!
Abram had to face change as God said to him. "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from they Father's house unto a land that I will show thee."
Sometimes we find ourselves in a comfortable place and don't want to leave. Abram was no different than us. He wanted to know what to expect. God spoke to him (in verse 2) of the blessings that awaited him, but he had to go!
The story of Ruby Bridges was used as a comparison in that her parents had to make a decision just as Abram did. They did not have all the immediate answers, but their young daughter entering into a different place, an all white school would make a difference for her people!
God rewards those who step out in obedience. There is no reward in stagnation!
Some of us are stagnant... afraid to fall on our face.
We must remember Joshua 1:9, "... be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid ...the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
