She said they've taken the Lord's body out of the Tomb and I don't know where they have put him. So Peter and John ran to the tomb to see for themselves. John outran Peter and got there first. Disturbed and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter rides and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there while the closeted covered. Jesus head was folded and lying to the side. Did John also went in and he saw and believed for until then? They hadn't realized that the scripture said he would rise from the dead. It is been said that necessity is the mother of invention. I guess such was the case during the Spanish Civil War which began on February 16th 1936. Has a contest to see you. The week between Palm Sunday and Easter is referred to as Holy Week.

Doubt this was the time when everything kind of began to Fester against Jesus, you don't hit had a running battle with Pharisees open Galilee for a couple of years. They were always on his case about something. He was breaking some of their their rules and regulations.

That's where their Ministry was and I'm sure every week that they looked in the Jerusalem County leader they kind of laughed up their sanctimonious leaves about the the problem of the Pharisees were having with this man. they had their their differences. They had their quarrels with one another friend since the Pharisees were those who believe that there was life after death and the Sadducees of course denied it the Pharisees. Used all of the scriptures that were available at that time. And the Sadducees only the five books of Moses. So they they both thought they were extremely holy people. They were God's chosen. But they couldn't get along with each other.

Sound like a modern-day denominations done it. Well, we're all in the same business and yet where we compete and I hear kaisley somebody making comments about another church.

Well, it's it's not a modern thing. It happened. So they rode into the city. now

That says that when they did Jesus immediately went down to the temple and started upsetting all of the money changer tables.

The other gospels don't say that.

One of the gospels said that's what happened on Monday. And another one says it happened on Sunday. I don't guess it really matters, but they did but I'll look at it this way they came in and he looked around and then they went to these friends.

now the friends Mary Martha and Lazarus live the short way outside the city of Jerusalem. A distance something like a oh maybe from the Wichita Falls City Limits the Jolly out of there. So they walked back and forth. So they went and spent the evening there and the next morning they went back into Jerusalem. now I say that that's when Jesus got all upset about to the money changers. What was it with the money changers? Well do that people would bring things for sacrifices either they brought money. they brought drain are they brought animals as my daughter used to say and none of it for the actual money or grain or animals were good enough to sacrifice so they had to trade for better stuff DACA buying a car, you know, if you're going to trade your car in any of you ever traded a car even all the dealer give you money for it.

Well that started the week off and it was kind of a a force which drove these two diverse religious groups together. So they join forces. And then they decided how we going to get rid of this this man Jesus.

Well, as you know late Thursday night, they had Jesus arrested. And then they had five traps. They took him first before Annis now old and has had been the chief priest.

but He got retirement age, I guess and they replaced him with her with his son-in-law Caiaphas. But and this was still. Cadillacs and former presidents still the power behind the presidency and the they took him first to orlandus and we don't really know what transpired there. But from there. They took him down to the Sanhedrin house and he has presided over by Kaya Fest and you know, what is composed of they had some Pharisees in there too. But Sadducees now late at night, they had trouble getting your corn, but that didn't stop him. We don't know how many members of the Sanhedrin were there. But of those that were there they flipped them into a frenzy and decided that he should be killed.

Only problem was the Jews didn't have the power to kill Jesus. Since Rome was there. Raiders and they didn't dare break pilot, so they had to wait until early morning. And they woke pilot up before he had his coffee and and oatmeal. And they began complaining and just tell him what to what this man had done and why he deserved death. And pilot wasn't all for it. And then he found the little little possible way out. They told him that Jesus was From Galilee August 8th. That shouldn't even though it was controlled by Rome. They still had a Jewish guy over the one they called a king. So he said take him over to let him judge him he is And they did. And her just made fun of me and said no, I'll take him back to take him back to Pilate. So they did. Pilot was getting hungry. He will just coffee in his oatmeal and he finally said I'm going to wash my hands and eat breakfast and y'all just do whatever you want to. And he did and they did.

If you were one of the Disciples of Jesus or one of his friends. Put yourself in their place. They had just been worked up into a frenzy when they came into Jerusalem on on Sunday. And people were welcoming and confetti was everywhere, you know.

And now it been captured and is being crucified. big difference What are you do? Well as far as We Know.

1 disciples had betrayed him and he vanished. night of the disciple friend in head had that left if my math is correct a couple of them o Peter and John they kind of trailed along to see what was going on. And that was okay. Peter began to feel the heat he began to be accused of being one of those and yell if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen or something like that. Well, he got out the kitchen he went in head. As far as we know John stayed through the whole thing. butter He was there throughout the entire crucifixion.

if you put yourself in their place, what would you have thought here? We have spent three years with this guy. They they still were mystified by him by his teachings by his powers.

And now that this was kind of a final lick they were totally confused.

We also have to face that same kind of question. What who is this man Jesus? We haven't followed him along in his footsteps for 3 years.

But we said that we believe that Jesus is the son of God.

If we really do. We're in good shape. Yo, I'm always.

Somewhat amused I guess by the differences in churches.

I told somebody if I ever retire. I'm not sure where I'll go to church. I visited some and never found any place. I felt at home. I guess it would have to be the way I want it repeated home. But if if y'all were Eve to give in your choice of how you would what kind of church you would like. I'm sure you would not all agree and you have things that You would change what we all do.

We're different.

The disciples had this problem as well. They were in total confusion. What were they going to do?

7 days how many 3 days now if you count from Friday to Sunday that ain't 3 days there are they?

Why do we call it three days? Well, the Jews the day ends at sunset.

Jesus was put in the grave Before Sunset. So that was day one.

Day two was Saturday. That was the Sabbath. Didn't anybody to do nothing on the Sabbath? they took Day three Sunday what happened on Sunday? Rajan says that Mary Magdalene went down to finish the burial process.

And was she in for surprise.

She got there member they had roll this big Stone in front of the Tomb and had soldiers standing there to be sure. Nobody was able to steal the body. When she got there, the sound was rolled away and the body was gone.

Who are Mary?

She ran back to where the disciples were hiding and she told them somebody stole the body of Jesus.

so John Peter took off and they ran down to the tomb.

Doubt by this is from John's gospel. So John said John got there first.

But he didn't go inside Peter came. He went inside then the in John rented. It's interesting thing. That they saw the the wrapping see, you know, they wrap the body like a mummy. Dead matter for their male or female they wrapped up like a mummy. That's a joke, just in case you missed it.

And the all the wrappings were still there.

It's just like the body just vanished and all the references were still there. Now what did old Peter and John do with this new information?

They went back to their hiding place.

And parole Mary Magdalene was still there. What what happened what happened? And she hears this voice behind her and said woman. What's the matter? And she said she thought he was the gardener and she said tell me where they have laid the body and I'll go take care of him. Now this is the this is the momentous moment.

Barry haven't had a life-changing event. with that resurrected Lord I hope you have to. He changed my life. I hope he's changed yours. Let us pray. Most gracious and loving God father. We are grateful for the great sacrifice that you made. It's inconceivable to us that a person would truly lay down his life. for us they were certainly we don't deserve it and yet Jesus did. But more than that, they're great. And Miracle is that he lived again? And he's alive today. Hey, we still can claim him as our master.
