Get Up and Get to Work

The Gospel story is the greatest story ever told, it is this story of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that is the foundation of our salvation, it is our faith in the work of Calvary that draws us into salvation, it is faith in the impact of the blood that was shed for us that ignites our faith in healing because we believe Isaiah when he said that even though he was rejected by those he came to die for, he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquity, the chastisment of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed. Our blessed assurance is not that we haved lived so holy but it is in the fact that he paid the debt for the sins we committ before we ever had a chance to sin, for he was the lamb that was slain before the world was created, and because of this we celebrate this time of year when he was murdered, buried but yet he rose and he is coming again, tell somebody there’s more to the story. This is the story we are commissioned to tell those who have not heard in order for them to come into this great salvation, it is our responsibility to use this gospel to rerach the masses so that God can be lifted up and draw men to himself, how can they believe what they have not heard and how can they hear without a preacher, we are to be this voice that crise in the wilderness preparing the people for the coming of the Lord but at times we have been so concerned with making our own name great i’m afraid every name has been lifted except the name of Jesus but I believe we are coming back to a day when the only thing we can preach is Jesus and him crucified, tell somebody preach the Gospel.

If Jesus is our perfect example that means if we want to operate in the power he operated in we must pattern our lives after the life Jesus lived during his time on Earth and I won’t let anyone get away with the statement that because Jesus was God in the flesh that means he already had the abillity to perform miracles but i submit to you that yes he was the image of the invisible God and the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in him bodily, but Jesus had no more power when he was born than you did when you were born, get your bibles out, Phillipians 2:5 says

5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

showing us that God went through a process called Kenosis, say Kenosis, which means to drain, make void, without reputation because if he is going to be our example he has to start from scratch himself, he became poor so that by his poverty we might become rich, so when Jesus is born in the manger he is prophetically recognized as the son of God but naturally he is know as the son of man, this is why many times in scripture he often refers to himself as the son of man, to relate to his humanity and many knew him as the son of the carpenter therefore it was difficult for them to acknowledge his divinity to where he would cast out a demon in the middle of a service and someone would quickly say ‘isnt that the carpenter’s son?’ but eventually Peter receives a revelation that went beyond the natural view of Jesus and he by the spirit recognizes him as the son of God, and that’s where God has some of you, you are about to walk into a season of proper perception where those who once saw you as just another person have to realize your true value, tell somebody this aint all of me, wait until i walk into my finest hour, the half of my destiny has not been told I’m still being unravelled, but when he has tried me, then Im coming forth in my greatest form, tell somebody there’s more to me! This is why you must constantly chip away the layers of hurt and pain that are laying as dead skin on you and let God prove you to make you fit for the assignment. It is important that we pattern ourselved after Jesus realizing he started with the same cards as we did, this is why before he ascends he can then say all power is given to me, you can’t have full power until you go through the process like he did. I wish I didn’t have to deal with so much warfare just to have power with God, I wish I could take breaks like everyone else, I wish I could just show up to Church whenever it’s convenient for my schedule, but because there is an assignment on my life and I made a vowel to the Lord, I realize there is more that he requires out of me in order for him to trust me to be able to carry the weight of the assignment, tell somebody he’s requiring more.

The first pattern we see Jesus leaving for us is Fasting, we see Jesus after being baptized by John in Matthew being led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, this is interesting because a lot of people get disappointed when they fast for any amount of time and it seems as though life gets worse either during or after the fast, because we have been told that fasting brings us closer to God and you thought a new set of tongues was your introduction to your new level but whaat you are not seeing is that fasting hightens your sensitivity to the spirit realm therefore every spirit that you have been trying to surpress over the years are now manifesting but not so that you can crumble but so that you can get closer to God to get strength to confront your weaknesses and thats why you are coming face to face with those areas you need to work on because once you overcome this level then you can be trusted with the next level in God but becasue you keep ignoring confrontation you can’t be trusted with new warfare but i need somebody to shout I’m breaking cycles, not another year in this same warfare, I’m ready for next tell somebody confront that thing. He is led by the spirit to be tempted but because he was sensitive because of his fasting and he wasn’t apart of a whole lot of different conversations but he was drowning his spitit in the word of God when the devil came to tempt his flesh he used the word, when the devil tempted his pride he used the word, and when the enemy comes after you, your tongues don’t work, your dance dont work, the only thing that defeats the enemy in your life is the word of God because the word of God is God himself and because God is the word the word says that the anointing destroys the yoke, therefore God supplies the anoitning to make his word come to pass, tell somebody use the word, thats why you have to stay in your word so you have something to give the devil when he comes after you, it wasnt a dance that saved my life, it was my way of saying thank you, but when i spoke over myself that by his stripes I am healed, depression had to loose me, when i said there is now no condemation guilt had to loose me, tell somebody use your words...

The next pattern Jesus left for us is Prayer we see Jesus often times go away by himself to spend time in prayer, most of the time we never see what his prayer was, we rarely read his exact words but we do know he mad it a daily practice to pray, and we see his operation in intercession often praying for those who were close to him and also for those who would be connected to him because of his assignment, he prays to God to make sure that what he is doing brings glory to the father and it is through this prayer life that we see results in his ministry the disciples who were with him for clout and not impartation tried to cast out a devil in a young boy but because the knew the result and not the work they could not use the power and when Jesus casts out the demon ask him why could we not do it, and he responds that this kind of power this kind of anointing can only come through prayer and fasting, and i know youve seen God use you with your lack of prayer and fasting but if you really want to walk into your full potential there is a requirement for more prayer in your life so that you can know whats me and whats your flesh, you need to know when to speak and when to be silent, you can’t represent a leader you never talk to, tell somebody get back to prayer, if you want to see results like never before get on your knees and crucify your flesh and declare what God is doing, when you start praying and fasting youll see what you’ve been missing, lift your hands and say i’m getting back to prayer.

Jesus is showing us what it taks to be anointed and therefore the last pattern he leaves for us is dying, it is this pattern that many begin to walk away from, they begin to fall away because of the level of self denial that is required, this is the pattern where most would say maybe im not cut out for this, and they wonder why they never reach their full maturity in God because they are trying to be filled with the holy spirit and their spirit when if you are full of the holy ghost there is no room for anything else, tell somebody its all or nothing, you cant serve two masters even if that other master is yourself, all you have ever done is cause your own demise, all you have ever done is crash your own plans, the enemy dont have to work hard because youre doing a great job distracting yourself, but Jesus if any man is going to follow me he must first deny himself, and take up his own asssignment but do it my way, tell somebody he’s got you, so here we are creeping up on our text when Jesus has found himself in a situation where death is inevidible and the only way God can get glory out of his life is by him dying so he goes the emptions of any anointed person and tries to get out of it but tell somebody you cant abort this, stop doubting yourself Ruth because God could use someone else but could it be thata he decided to choose you for such a time as this because youve got what it takes, anyway Jesus finally submits to the will of God and he goes through the process of being accused, betrayed and abused like all of us have been, he shows us how to deal with betrayal, he shows us how to deal with false accusation and thats by saying nothing, some of you can’t be vindicated because you feel like you have to defend yourself, but if you hold your peace youll get to the assignment a whole lot quicker, he goes through the tornment and he goes through the crucifixion and is buried and we jump straight to his resurrection and celebrate their but something happens that we often miss because and that is the question of what was Jesus doing while he was in the tomb because eventhough the body of God was laying there we know that the spirit of God never sleeps nor slombers o he must be doing something, well something the gospel writers missed but the writer of Hebrew lets us know is that the only way Jesus could ascend and end his bodily authority on Earth he had to impart gifts into men and set the cative free, so while they are waiting to see what will happen in three days Jesus has went down into lower parts of the Earth, and reclaimed the souls of those who were held captive and not only did he set them free but he gave them gifts, I’ve come to tell you that God is showing you that no matter what kind of bondage you find yourself in, no matter how low your situation is, God has not forgetten about you, he’s made his way into your problem, and not only is he resurrecting you, but he’s resurrecting your gift, for after he set the captive free, he then releases their gifts, there is a gift on the inside of you, but the enemy, has had you, in captivity, but today, the hand of God, is not too short, that he can’t reach you, where you are, and pull you out, and set you up, in your place, of destiny, tell somebody, come out, of your bondage, and get to work, he’s releasing you, and your gift, he’s releasing you, and your assignment, he’s releasing you, and the prophetic, he’s releasing you, and the apostolic, he’s releasing you, to teach, he’s releasing you, to Pastor, he’s releasing you, to win souls, tell somebody, he’s releasing you, and your gift.

There is work for you to do, but you cant do it in captivity.
