If a transgender person accepts Christ, are they truly saved and will they go to Heaven?
Can I just tell you something? Sinners are all equal. The ground is level at the foot of the cross. Every sin that exists causes separation from God, whether its telling a little white lie or being gay.
We as humans, sin because we are addicted to sin. Plain as that. We are fallen beings, because of adam, he has passed on his sin nature to us, and so now we sin. We are addicted to sinning. And I don’t just mean addicted to one particular sin, I mean we all have an addiction to sin.
So a little white lie separates you from God as much as being gay does.
And yes, being gay is a sin. There’s so many videos and blogs that are filled with so many lies, especially on this subject. I like to call it tik tok theology. You have these random people on tik tok who try to explain away different things in the Bible.
Please, Please put your trust in the Bible, and not what man says about the Bible.
Romans 1:24-27: Therefore God gave them up to vile impurity in the lusts of their hearts, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, 27 and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
So yes, it is a sin to be gay, but being gay does not make you less of a person. If you are not saved, then you’re not saved. Sin is sin.
So, if a transgender person accepts Christ, are they truly saved and will they go to Heaven?
What this question is really asking is this, which is actually another question I got.
Can you still sin and make it to Heaven?
So what does it take to be saved by Jesus to go to Heaven?
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Does the Bible tell us anywhere that we have to stop sinning completely to make it to Heaven? No, because then our salvation would become dependent on us, on how good or bad we are. And the whole point of the gospel is that you are inherently a sinner who cannot save yourself, so Jesus came to down to save you.
So the answer is yes, you can still sin and make it to Heaven. That does not mean you have a license to sin. Once you get saved, you are not free to sin, you are free from your sin. However, there should be evidence of your salvation somehow. James tells us basically that faith works. You are not saved by doing good things, but when you get saved, you will do good things. You wont be perfect, but there should be a noticeable difference.
So for the lgbtq person, the right thing for them to do would be to forsake their lifestyle and live a godly lifestyle. If they dont, does that mean they’re not saved? No.
If you have an addiction to pornography, and you get saved, the right thing to do would be to forsake looking at porn. If you dont stop, does that mean that you’re not saved? No. It just means you still have a sin problem that you need to fix, and that yes you won’t have sweet fellowship with Christ, but that doesn’t mean that your not saved.
You could use any sin. You curse constantly, then get saved, but still cuss. Does that mean you didn’t really get saved?
Now as time progresses, you should be able to forsake whatever sin is controlling you. There should be evidence of change in your life.
So yes, the transgender person who truly believes in Christ’s death and resurrection for their sins, is saved.
The person who continues to sin after they get saved, will still go to Heaven. There’s not a person who has ever lived who never sinned after salvation.
There is not a sin that you can commit that would render the death and resurrection of Jesus powerless.
Another question I got that kind of went along with these other questions is this:
Why am I the way that I am?
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Marvellous are thy works;
And that my soul knoweth right well.
You are made specially by God. God does not make mistakes. People are not born gay. But, people are born with a sin nature, and so different people have bigger inclinations to different sins. One person might have a problem with lying, one person might have a problem with pride, one person might have a problem with pornography, and one person might have a problem with same sex attraction.
You cannot change who you are, but Christ can. Whenever we get saved, we can break the chains of addictions but the temptation will always be there. It wont be until we get to heaven that you will be completely 100% free from sin and temptation.
How should a Christian treat someone who is gay/lgbtq?
How should a Christian treat anybody?
Almost 10% of teens in america today are lgbtq, chances are you talk to 1 or 2 every month.
They are still humans. They were still made in God’s image, they are image bearers of God. We treat them with love and respect the same as we treat any one else.
