Defining the Non-Religious in our Day

I was reading an article from the Washington Examiner on Monday that cited a Barna group study which stated for the first time in American culture the majority of Americans, over 50%, do not associate themselves with any form of religion.
We had a man from the KBC preach our chapel at the school, and he claims, according to KBC research, that only 13% of all Kentuckians are in a worship service any given Sunday.
In essence, a non-religious identity is not only growing in our country, but it is growing right here in our state.
There are two broad categories that we can place people non-religious people:
Atheist - Believe in no God or god. In our world today, this is believed to be factual science based off the theory of evolution.
Agnostic - Believe there is a God or god, but it is impossible for us to know God or god. This is the philosophical view of all roads lead to heaven.

Paul’s Evangelism to the Athenians

He starts at a place they would understand. (vs. 22-23)
Can you think of some words that we use, which are common knowledge in church, that may not be common knowledge to a unchurched person?
He unites humanity with a common need and under a common command:
Man’s need - a relationship with God (vs. 28-29)
God’s command - relationship starts with repentance (v. 30)
He presents the results of accepting and rejecting God’s commands. (v. 31)

Recognize the Results:

Arguably the best evangelist and missionary to walk the earth:
V. 32 - some laughed at him
V. 32 - others were uncommitted
V. 33 - Paul does not argue or twist arms, but he goes his way.
V. 34 - However, some gave their hearts to the Lord.
Dionysius - potentially a man of high station.
Damaris - potentially a woman of low station.
Others - We are looking for the others come Friday!
