Christianity has Absolute Truth

The transfiguration doesn’t happen to just anyone. It can only happen to Jesus.
And if God tells people that Jesus is also God, that means a few things
What Jesus said was true
What Jesus did was legit
We can trust the Bible
However, this is offensive in modern culture because we are making absolute truth claims
In Christian Circles - Moralistic Therapeutic Deism
A God exists who created and ordered the world and watches over human life on earth
God wants people to be good, nice, and fair to each other, as taught in the Bible and by most world religions.
The central goal of life is to be happy and feel good about oneself
God does not need to be particularly involved in one’s life except when God is needed to resolve a problem
Good people go to heaven when they die.
Outside of Christian circles
Relativism
The doctrine that knowledge, truth, and morality exist in relation to culture, society, or historical context, and are not absolute.

Because of that, Christianity needs to go out in the world

It feels easier to ‘set up a tent’ (Mark 9:5), but that’s not what God would have for us!
We can’t let Christianity just be in the four walls of the church
We’re supposed to go out and spread the Gospel to everyone, not just the people we like or are easy to talk to.
If you are willing to do this, you will see God show up.
It might not be immediate or the way you expect, but things will happen.

Challenge: Do something to spread the Gospel this week.

Why do you think it’s important that Christianity has absolute Truth?
Why is it easy to keep Christianity in the four walls of the church?
How could you spread the Gospel this week?
