Luke 24:25–27 HCSB
He said to them, “How unwise and slow you are to believe in your hearts all that the prophets have spoken! Didn’t the Messiah have to suffer these things and enter into His glory?” Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
Romans 8:11 HCSB
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.
Is there some hidden factor in life that we are looking for that we can tap into and fulfill our destiny? Are we looking for something beyond the ordinary to ignite our life? That is the power found in superheroes for a child. Becoming a Superman or Wonder Woman who has superpowers that enable them to defeat evil, injustice and be loved and admired by society and their friends. The desire to be and live something more than what we see and experience every day. The reason why we are drawn to those who live what we believe to be extraordinary lives. Why we spend our time admiring and watching television and movie stars, celebrities, musicians, writers, athletes…they seem to be living the life we want to live - admiration by people, excitement, adventure, dressing up, elegance, nice cars, parties with all the poplar people. They have no problems, no issues, no mundane, no hummdrums of life; the world is their oyster.
Is this why people seem to be not at all interested in or drawn to Jesus…at first. Because they see the church living ordinary lives
We are not asked to believe the doctrine of the Resurrection, we are asked to meet the person raised from the dead…Jesus. In faith, we move from belief in a doctrine to knowledge of a person.
