God never fails to carry out His will in Sovereign election. When God places His grace on a people, nothing can remove it from them. God's grace will do the work it was sent out to do! God sovereignly chose the people of Isreal for Himself and He would continue to prove to them that He is a God of keeping His covenant with them.

Introduction: Let us look back to 5:22-23 for a moment to understand the prayer God is answering in chapter 6.
Moses was in a position of unbelief.
Moses felt like there was an apparent injustice on God’s behalf.
This kind of attitude breeds this kind of thinking, “Can God really be trusted to work out His own plan effectively?” “Does God really have the power to back up His promises?”
God will be taking time in chapter 6 to answer his prayer by way of providing Him several encouragements. God would also renew His covenant under the name “Jehovah.”
(v1) Jehovah does not make preparations for the future. He depends on nothing in creation. He leans on nothing. God wants Moses to lean upon Him!
Let us today also be encouraged in the fact that what God sends His grace to accomplish, gets accomplished! GOD NEVER FORGETS NOR EVER FAILS!!!
The Covenant Of Jehovah
Four times in this speech, God reminded Moses, “I am the Lord” (Ex. 5:2, 6-8) and used His covenant name “Jehovah.
Seven times, God said, “I will.” (our next point)
When we know that God is in control and we claim His promises, then we can experience peace and courage in the battles of life.
God reminds them of His covenant name, “Jehovah”
The names of God are a great way for believers to become better acquainted with God.
Patriarchs knew God as “God Almighty” (Hebrew = El Shaddai / The all sufficient and all-powerful God)
They knew God’s name was Jehovah, but didn’t understand the full implications of the name.
“Jehovah” links Him with Israel and His covenants.
FACTS: this name is sacred / they won’t speak it when reading scriptures in the synagogue / they substitute with Adonai (Master
As Jehovah, Moses and Israel needed to understand God had not ignored their need nor unconcerned about their suffering.
1 Peter 5:7
The “I wills” Of Jehovah
Seven “I wills”
I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
A wonderful Parallel to our redemption in Christ.
We are under the overpowering death of our sin.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
As Jehovah was able to provide physical deliverance for His chosen people, Jesus is able to save those He draws to Himself
Romans 8:
I will rid you out of their bondage.
Remember the fearful spirit the people had due to their harsh labor.
They woke up every day with the same heavy weight of bondage.
Application: There was a time when God woke me up to the reality of the bondage I was under.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
I will redeem you with an outstretched arm.
Isaiah spoke of God mighty hand - Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
It is impossible to know exactly who God is revealing Himself to today, but we do know THAT HE IS!
God was willing to come to us through the gospel of His Son, so we must come to Him as sinners.
Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
I will take you to me for a people.
God was promising to lift them up out of the muck of Egyptian Idolatry and sin.
Application: God has promised to life those who will believe out of the muck and mire of sin and make us sons in Christ Jesus.
LISTEN: God does not save us and then run off and leave us!!!
He want to be your God.
If you have saving faith, will WILL NOT live as if God does not exist!
God’s people are a TRANSFORMED PEOPLE.
I will be to you a God.
In eternity passed, God sovereignly chose the nation of Israel for Himself a people.
It had nothing to do with their greatness. It had all to do with GOD’S GRACE placed on them.
Application: The only reason God “draws you” is because God makes a choice to do so!!!
Did you do anything to merit His saving grace? NO NO NO!
You should ever be humbled to the fact God, by His own volition, set His grace on you .
It is simply because of the nature of God that He loves sinners!!!
I will bring you into the land.
The land of Canaan.
Not a picture of Heaven.
A picture of the Christian life as believers should live it.
Quote: Canaan typifies the heavenlies where we are blessed with all spiritual blessings - the believer has to walk worthy of his high calling for perfect enjoyment of spiritual blessings.
How is this done???
Through the filling of the Holy Spirit.
There are wars and battles to win.
Believers often live as if they are bankrupt in the wilderness of the world.
Question: Are you living today in the life, light, and love of a living Savior?
I will give it to you for an heritage.
The wealth of Canaan was the physical heritage for the Israelites.
Application:
We have access to Him.
We have joy in the midst of storms and trouble.
Holy Spirit dwells in every believer.
Delivered from God’s future wrath.
Conclusion: What kind of salvation do you have? If the salvation you boast of has not transformed your life, it is not salvation of the Gospel of Jesus! The Gospel of Jesus never leaves you the way it finds you!
