Introduction
Today we look into a passage of scripture very familiar to you. This chapter itself is more prominently known for the prodigal son. Today we are going to focus on the parable of the lost sheep, and it’s significance and application to our own lives in the church and out of it.

Verse 2, Indignation - Insinuating that he must have a secret sympathy with their character (on the principal that a man is known by the company he keeps). cf. Mt 11:19
Zeal for God no knowledge. cf. Rm 10:2-3

Jesus is our Shepherd.
“Until He finds it” v.4-5 “lays it on his shoulder” the great desire He has for the sheep that has gone astray.
Look unto Him and His work for salvation.
Learn from His compassion for us.
