He Did It- ALL OF IT - Time to Celebrate!

Remember what He said - ALL OF IT
Suffer, Die, Buried, and....RESURRECT! - over and over and over
Paul repeats what Jesus taught, and did - ALL OF IT
1 Corinthians 15:3-4, and vv 5f - Paul repeats the simple truth - ALL OF IT
Jesus resurrected, and appeared to more than 500
He rose, they saw and believed
He rose, we trust by faith!
To Paul, there was NO reason not to believe or trust all that did happen, and all that will
To us, there is NO reason - NONE - to not believe all that did happen, is happening, and will still happen
So...

Trust/Faith - All of it

1 Cor 2:2 - Paul preached Christ’s crucifixion - straightforward truth
1 Corinthians 15: 50-58 - CHRIST VICTORIOUS - straightforward truth
ALL OF IT
Therefore: abound in His work - until He returns
(abound = do this in large numbers, in order for people to take notice and know)
TODAY - CELEBRATE
Best way to celebrate is to invite and involve others - Show them!
If today, Resurrection Sunday, doesn’t excite you - seriously, question your relationship with Christ!
BUT....it’s not just Resurrection Sunday
Not just a day - it’s a life!
Not just this Sunday, not just this week
What about tomorrow, the next day?
What about next week? Will church and worship be important to you then?
THIS IS THE BELIEVER’S LIFE - We live to worship the Risen Savior!
Christ’s work was finished, accomplished with the Resurrection - His work will resume when He returns
(Actually, His work here continues, in the lives of believers)
See, the believer’s work begins at the Resurrection
Build the church, make disciples
And it starts with each individual - salvation - Accept God’s Word - Give your life to Christ

Trust/Faith - All of it

HE’S COMING BACK
He returns for believers - and we trust in the resurrection
Jesus’ resurrection guarantees our own resurrection to eternal life with Him
The resurrection of Jesus is CENTRAL point of Christianity
Without the resurrection, our faith is in vain, meaningless, nonsense
The NT epistles stress this urgency- Paul, Peter, John
HE’S COMING BACK - Do you believe that?
When He does, will He be taking you to eternity with Him?
How do you know? What Bible answer can you give?
This is important - actually, nothing MORE important than this

Trust Christ - now, today - Why wait?

The challenge is clear:
Take the notes section of the bulletin - write down, now, the circumstances when you placed your trust in Christ
If you can’t do that, you need to settle that, now, today.
There is no shame in admitting you need a Savior. 100% of people do.
Every single believer has done this.
May 5, 2020 - in Bethlehem, PA, around 8:30 pm - I gave my life to Christ
When did you?
THE RESURRECTION - THE REASON WE CELEBRATE! JESUS DID THIS, ALL OF THIS, FOR YOU! HIS WORK IS DONE, NOW YOU MUST RESPOND!
(Prayer)
Today, we celebrate the Resurrection, and believers remembering what He did. One way we do that is through Communion
Communion is NOT:
Forgiveness
A good work and a means of you obtaining grace
Habit - something we just do on the first Sunday
BUT
A beautiful ceremony, for BELIEVERS, who know Jesus and remember trusting Him
A great time of examination of the life you, BELIEVER, are living for Christ

COMMUNION

Before you take communion today - discuss your relationship with God, with Him
When did you trust Him, personally? Have you surrendered your life to Him? This is serious.

INVITATION

Jesus’ work, His finished work of the crucifixion and resurrection, is done
Now, He commands you to repent and obey the Gospel
Mark 1:15 NASB95
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
John 3:7 NASB95
“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
We’ll sing a hymn, and the clear TRUTH, is that we will, each one of us, meet Jesus
He’ll allow you entrance into glory with Him, one ONE, and only ONE condition - your personal confession, saying what He has said (you are a sinner), and then calling upon the name of the Lord - anyone who does this, SHALL BE SAVED.
This is Romans 9:10-13
Is that you? If you are not 100% sure, come forward, settle it.
