Investigation of a mysterious inheritance - it's worth investigating.
It is a story about investigating 15 million dollars entrusted for you: you think it has to be too good to be real.
Being not spam from an email or robocall, you may not believe it at first, but curiosity gets the best of you. Then you would start investigating for yourself, because why else would you not explore something that could change your life.
The same happened to a group of women when it came to the tomb of Jesus. Christ had been sealed within a grave, but now the impossible has happened, the tomb's stone has rolled away.
Evidence of an empty tomb deserves an honest answer. This is why Mary sent the disciples to investigate the phenomenon.
All the evidence points to the truth of the resurrected Jesus.
Evidence: Rolled Stone, Leftover Linen, Missing Body
Our blinders distort the truth; God graces us with clarity.
Rationalize everything: Studied the tomb, questioned the supposed gardener.
New explanations for the resurrection: swoon theory, hallucination theory, impersonation theory, thief theory, mistaken grave, spiritual resurrection theory
None of these explain the evidence that happened near the tomb.
We need help in our unbelief. The disciples and Mary couldn't come to understanding everything Jesus said until he touched their lives in a new way.
When God suddenly opens our eyes and ears, we respond to the truth by belief.
His grace enables us to come to believe in his victory.
The scriptures unlock our minds, and we come to hang onto something greater than ourselves.
The sun rose, the grave is empty, the head covering lay neatly in the tomb, and the disciples and Mary were changed.
Those with resurrection faith are made to move.
The disciples and Mary told others about what happened.
Resurrected faith unites us in a relationship with the living King.
Our new identities, purpose, and hope are not based on us, but what Jesus is doing in and through us today.
Investigate the resurrection; you'll never be the same again.
