God's Love is Forever

We brought something fun today! What are these?

I know you all are very talented and are probably very good at catching things. I want each of you to catch one.

Good work! Now I’m going to blow bubbles again. This time I want you each to catch a bubble and save it.

Now show me your bubbles.

Does anyone have a bubble left?

Bubbles are beautiful, but they last for just a moment or two. They just don’t last do they? It would be so cool if we could hold a bubble in our hands and just look at it a long time, but we can’t because they POP! They just don’t last.

Today I want to talk to you about something that lasts forever! It’s a truth that we find in the Bible.

Our Bible verse for today Psalm 136:1

It says that we should give thanks to the Lord, “for God’s steadfast love will last forever”.

How amazing is that? God’s love lasts forever. It will never ever stop. No matter what happens God will keep right on loving. God IS love!

Let’s say together, “God’s love lasts forever!”

Things in this world don’t last very long. It’s a good thing that we don’t have to worry about whether or not God loves us. He will never stop loving you! He will never stop loving your friends. He will never stop loving your Mom or Dad. He even loves your brothers and sisters!

He just loves EVERYONE!

We can trust the Bible and we can trust that God’s love will last forever!

Bubbles are going to pop. They don’t last. God’s love lasts forever.

Beautiful flowers fade. They don’t last. God’s love lasts forever.

Toys get broken. They don’t last. God’s love lasts forever.

Sometimes ever the things that we love the most get taken away from us, but God’s love lasts forever.

Say it with me again: “God’s love lasts forever!”

Do you know what I think God loves most of all out of everything in the whole wide world?

YOU!

You are special. You are unique. There is no one else like you, and God loves you more than anyone else ever could.

The bible says in Psalm 139 that God had you in mind when He made you in your mamma's tummy! It says that you are wonderfully made.

God does not make mistakes, and when He made you He made a masterpiece.

Let me ask you smart kids a question:

Is God smart?

Can God do whatever he wants to do?

Now if God is smart and He can do whatever He wants to do, why did He make you?

Because you are important. You matter. And most of all because He loves you. And the love that He has for your will last forever.

You know what I think?

If God loves us then we can hold out heads up high. We don’t have to be sad all the time. We don’t have to be grumpy!

We can walk around knowing that we are special to God.

You know what? Some people might forget how special you are, they might not know that God’s love lasts forever.

Sometimes other people might pick on you. They might call you names. Even people you care about can hurt your feelings. Part of growing up means that things aren’t always going to feel good. You aren’t always going to be treated fairly even though you are special to God!

When these things happen you can remember that God’s Love Lasts Forever and His great love is for you! When things don’t go they way you want or others aren’t being nice to you just remember that God can turn things around. That He is always looking for a way to make things better.

Your feelings are important. Some days you might feel sad. Some days you might feel happy. But no matter how you feel, you need to remember that God loves you and that He will never leave you.

Now, if we know that God’s love for us lasts forever and that God made us special then shouldn’t we share this good news with everyone?

Here’s a question: How do you show the love of God to other people?

The bible tells us how God showed His love for ALL people.

1 John 4:9 NLT

9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

Last Sunday was Easter Sunday. We remember that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son to take our punishment for all the bad things we’ve ever done. If we believe in Jesus then we can live a new life and we can know that one day we get to be with Jesus in Heaven.

We show the Love of God that Lasts forever by serving other like Jesus served us.

Guess what? If God loves EVERYONE and He made EVERYONE special then we should also love everyone and treat them special.

When people we know do things that we don’t like, we need to remember that Jesus gave His life so that they can know the love of God.

We have a job to do! We need to show everyone LOVE even if they deserve something else. We can be nice to others even if they aren’t always nice to us.

We should always remember that we are not ever going to be perfect. Maybe sometimes we will need others to remind you of the love of Jesus.

The bible tells us that we should treat others how we want to be treated.

God’s love lasts forever. You are special and God loves you. We need to share this love with others.
