You Better Recognize
Psalm 100:1–5 NKJV
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name!
Intro:

Jesus is Lord & King!!!

Today just like every Sunday, a beautiful thing happens all around the world: millions and millions of people gather to worship and praise the Lord.
Whether you are online - in a Mega-Church, or medium size church
in a small church or in your home
It doesn’t matter if you worship in the open or in private
The truth is we gather to Worship God
We gather praise his Holy name
Now on the flip side of the coin, millions and millions of people do not follow this pattern.
Millions of people worship false gods or no god at all.
They don’t see God - Jehovah as their creator!
2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT
4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Look at this
Psalm 100
describes God’s people in worship,
Psalm 100 identify s God’s people gathering to worship
Psalm 100 spells out what the attitude of the worshipper should look like
Psalm 100 also yells out to the World that Jesus is Lord and invites them to receive him as Savior
Psalm 100 teaches us the actual purpose of the church:
1. To joyfully express praise and thanksgiving to God
2. To present ourselves for God’s service
3. To urge all people of the earth to come into a relationship with God through His Son Jesus.

As believers, We must acknowledge the Lord
Because he is the only one we give praise to!
look at the text...
Psalm 100:1 NLT
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
It begins with a summons:
It tells us to shout with joy to the Lord!
It tells us to make a joyful noise!
It reminds us to Shout loudly and exuberantly to the Lord!
It tells us to come together for worship of the Lord
It is a call to those who don’t believe to turn from false thinking and false gods and recognize the true God
The Lord our God!
Psalm 100:2 NKJV
2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
A big important and vital part of worship is presenting ourselves to the Lord for His service.
Romans 12:1 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

“Worship leads to service, and true service is worship.”

We should not serve the Lord out of duty or obligation but out of the gladness of our hearts.
Because of God’s great love and mercies, we should serve Him willingly and with joy.
We should also remember what a tremendous privilege it is to be the servants of such a great King!
We get to serve God!
We should come before the Lord’s presence -
literally, before His face with songs of joy on our lips.
This reflects our attitude when we gather for worship
We are to approach Him reverently,
We are to approach him with joyful hearts and joyful songs.
1 Timothy 3:15 NLT
15 so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.

Remember you are the Church!

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NLT
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
Since our bodies are the temple of God’s Holy Spirit, we should worship the Lord as we walk throughout each day.
But we should also acknowledge the Lord by gathering with His people for worship every week.
Just as the psalmist extended the call to worship here, so churches across the world extend the call to come and worship the Lord with them.
What is sad is many professing believers do not answer this call.
Hebrews 10:25 CEV
25 Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.
Don’t come to worship grudgingly or half-heartedly, out of duty or obligation.
Our attitude about going to church should be one of anticipation and joy.
As a believe , you should Never should we say, “I have to go to church today.”
or I’m waiting for the church doors to open
Because, serving the Lord and going to worship is a high privilege and ought to be among the greatest joys in our lives
Psalm 122:1 NKJV
1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
We should serve the Lord cheerfully and worship Him wholeheartedly.
Anything less is unworthy of God and His great love for us.

Psalm 100:3 NKJV
3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
The Psalm writer said - Know the LORD
that’s a call to believers and non-believers !
Yahweh or Jehovah is the name by which God revealed Himself to His people.
It is the name by which He swore when He made His covenant with us.
His name guarantees that He will keep His promises at all costs.
When the bible say’s To know - it means to know personally, intimately, and by experience.
The psalmist was inviting all people to come into a personal relationship with God,
I am inviting you to come into a personal relationship with God today
The psalmist was inviting people to experience God to experience God
I am inviting you to experience God
The psalmist was inviting people to see for themselves that He keeps His promises).
I invite you to see for yourself that the God I serve is a promise keeper
He is the only true and living God.
God is our Creator.
Psalm 139:14–16 NIV84
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
He made us; therefore, we are His. He formed our bodies and our souls
Genesis 2:7 NCV
7 Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and formed a man from it. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living person.
He crafted our spirits and blew His breath—the only source of life—into us
Acts 17:28 NLT
28 For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
We live, breathe, and exist because of Him
We are not self-made; we are made by God, who personally and individually created us for fellowship with Him, to enjoy the fullness of the glory of His presence forever and ever
1 John 1:3 NCV
3 We announce to you what we have seen and heard, because we want you also to have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with God the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:4–7 NLT
4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
God is our rightful owner.
He is our Creator: We are His people!

He is our Shepherd

He guides and cares for us His sheep
Psalm 95:7 NKJV
7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
His pasture is the earth, which He so wisely created to provide for us and to meet all of our needs.
The Lord is a shepherd who deeply loves and cares for His sheep
He loves us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His one and only Son to lay down His life for us
Through His creation, His Word, and the circumstances of our lives, He seeks to guide us into a relationship with Him.

Don’t Go Astray

Isaiah 53:6 NLT
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.
It is our responsibility as believers to invite those that have gone astray to come into a relationship with God.
We know that the Lord is God.
We know that He created us for a relationship with Him.
We know that He gave His Son for us, and that by repenting and believing Him, we can be one of His sheep.
Christ has commissioned us to point the world to God,
We must show people that He is the only way into the Jesus is the only way in to Gods pasture
John 10:7–11 NKJV
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
John 14:6 NKJV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
God wants everyone to know Him and to come into a relationship with Him.
That’s why we are responsible to take the gospel the good news into all the earth .
You must become an advocate for Jesus Christ

Psalm 100:4–5 NLT
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

God is worthy of praise!

As our Creator and Shepherd, God is worthy of praise.
He made us
He guides
He cares for us throughout our lives.
More than that, however, He is our Savior.
When we stray away from God by sinning,
God made a way back for us.
He provided for our salvation by offering His Son as the sacrifice for our sin.
God’s power in creating us and
God’s faithfulness in caring for us
Deserve our unending praise.
But His love
His love for us at Calvary
His Love for us at the Cross
That Love exceeds every other reason for offering our thanks and praise to Him.

It’s That Love Thing

Let’s not forget about his mercy
Because of mercy God’s love for us never fails;
God’s love is everlastingis eternal
We may fail him but He never fails us.
Romans 8:35–39 NCV
35 Can anything separate us from the love Christ has for us? Can troubles or problems or sufferings or hunger or nakedness or danger or violent death? 36 As it is written in the Scriptures: “For you we are in danger of death all the time. People think we are worth no more than sheep to be killed.” 37 But in all these things we are completely victorious through God who showed his love for us. 38 Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, 39 nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can overcome His love for us!

He is faithful and true to every generation

Finally, we should enter God’s presence with thanksgiving for His faithfulness.
God is faithful and true to every generation.
We can count on God and we can count on His truth. He and His Word can be trusted. From generation to generation, He is always the same
James 1:17 NLT
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Psalm 100 teaches us what our attitude should be when we go to worship God especially when we gather in his house!
We must come before the Lord with gladness and joy
We must enter His presence with thanksgiving and praise.
God is good to us every day.
He is ever faithful to us, and His love never fails.
When we get up on Sunday morning always prepare your heart to give thanks!
Take some time to reflect on all He has done for you in the past week.
Fill your heart should be filled ith praise.
Lift your voice and sing the praises of our good, loving, and faithful God.
As believers, we too are instructed to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving: Give God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and a hand clap of praise!
God Bless You!
