But now, O Lord,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
When using different names for Father: Dad, daddy, protector, provider, redeemer, etc. which are personal characteristics we attribute to the Father.
There are nearly half a million words in the Hebrew Bible, yet God is only portrayed as a father some fifteen times.
If you were to tally how many times Jesus uses that name for God, the total would reach approximately 65 by the time you finished the Gospel of Luke and over 170 by the time you reached the end of the Gospel of John.
Then He said: “A certain man had two sons.
So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [fervently].
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
