“Grace Through Faith”
Ephesians 2:1-10
Introduction
Purpose: To remind the audience that their salvation was fully accomplished after Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. (FQ1 – idea to be explained)
Big Idea: Are works necessary for salvation?
I. All humans are in desperate need of a Savior. (Ephesians 2:1-3)
A. Exposition
1. All humans are guilty of sin.
2. There is a possibility to be freed from sin.
3. Those who live in sin are under the wrath of God.

II. God has provided a Savior.
A. Exposition
1. God has incredible mercy.
2. God has incredible love for us.
3. God’s action through Jesus has brought us from death to life!
4. God has raised us up with Jesus Christ.
5. God’s ultimate intention is to show us incredible kindness, love, and mercy in Jesus Christ for all eternity.

III. Saved by God’s Grace to Serve Him
A. Exposition
1. You have been saved by God’s grace in reaction to your faith.
2. We are the work of Jesus Christ.
3. We were originally intended to walk in good works, not in evil. ‘
4. Your works cannot save you.

C. Applications – Your obedience to God does not add to your salvation. Your obedience to God is proof that he is working in you!
Conclusion – Its easy to become discouraged whenever we fail. But take heart in this: Jesus has paid the price for all the sins you’ve ever committed or ever will commit. Trust in his sacrifice, and don’t try to rely on your own works to undo your wrongdoing.
