Alright, so tonight we again get into our journey into the Book of Revelation. We remember that God has given us a 3 part outline in Ch 1:19.
19 “Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.
1. The the things seen were the things in Ch 1, the vision of the resurrected Jesus and the 7 churches. 2.The things which are Chapters 2 & 3, the letters to the Churches outlining the church age from Pentecost to the second coming. Part 3 was chapters 4-22, which are the things which would happen Meta Tauta, that is after church age.
Now at the beginning of chapter 4, we see the words Meta Tauta, and John hears a trumpet and he is caught up to heaven. There he has a vision of the heavenly scene with the church represented there.
I mention this to say that the things we will be talking about in Rev 16 have to do with God’s wrath coming upon a christ rejecting world. These things will have no effect upon any who are in Christ and part of the eklesia or church now.
We believe that vision of ch 4 is one of the rapture. Prior to the great tribulation. So the things we will learn tonight will not come upon us. How can I be so sure?
9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
We pick up where we ended last week with God’s Shekinah Glory filling the temple so that no one could enter or even stand.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
God’s glory in this sense only manifests itself on very special occasions as in the dedication of the tabernacle in the wilderness and at the dedication of Solomon’s temple, here, and perhaps at Mt Sinai, delivering the Law to Moses; always special occasions.
Imagine what it is like to encounter the living God in all His glory.
· Jews at hearing Gods thunder.
· Isaiah’s response to his vision.
· The apostles when Jesus calmed the storm.
Let us not forget God is a consuming fire.
Ch 16 read:
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things;
6 for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it.”
7 And I heard the altar saying, “Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.
9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.
Here we see the actual “bowls of God’s Judgement poured out. We will notice similarities to the Trumpet judgment in Rev 10 and also in the Plagues of Egypt.
Let’s take a deeper look;
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
In V1 Whose voice is coming from the temple, remember the last time we saw it was empty, this is no Angel it’s the very voice of God. He commands the angels to pour out their bowls on the earth. The word bowl in Greek is phialē. It means a broad shallow bowl or deep saucer. The KJV used the word “vial” for bowl because of the Greek word phile.
Now it begins, Bowl 1:
2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
Ugly, loathsome sores on all who had the mark of the beast or worshiped his image. This is the ultimate result for all who reject Christ’s forgiveness: Loathsome stinky sores on their lives.
Interestingly, with the untested, RNA, and DNA changing vaccines being used, it may be that there will be physical manifestations that were not considered. Like these sores mentioned here in Revelation 16. It is possible that these sores may be a result of a “carcinogenic” or radiation poisoning from the mark.
This also reminds of the the Exodus and the 6th plague.
8 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of soot from a kiln, and let Moses throw it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 “It will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and will become boils breaking out with sores on man and beast through all the land of Egypt.”
10 So they took soot from a kiln, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it toward the sky, and it became boils breaking out with sores on man and beast.
11 The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians as well as on all the Egyptians.
12 And the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had spoken to Moses.
Interestingly this idea of boils is also mentioned in the curses for being unfaithful to God in Deut;
15 “But it shall come about, if you do not obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
27 “The Lord will smite you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scab and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.
We move on to the second bowl of God’s wrath;
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.
Here in the Second Bowl the Sea is turned into blood. Notice it is not localized as in Rev 8 where a third of the living creatures die.
8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood,
9 and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed.
There we pointed out that it would be like the entire Atlantic Ocean died. Here every living thing in the sea dies.
Here there are undeniable parallels to the Exodus plagues.
19 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’ ”
20 So Moses and Aaron did even as the Lord had commanded. And he lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood.
21 The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.
Now there is a phenomenon called a “red tide” where there is an algae bloom in the ocean, the water becomes red, and algae robs the oxygen and fish die.

We also have the results of the Fukishima Nuclear accident that has poisoned much of the Pacific Ocean. Additionally reports come out weekly of huge whale pods and fish die offs all over the world.

Now the third bowl;
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood.
Here in the Third Bowl the Fresh Water becomes blood. Notice even the springs,the ground water is polluted. I don’t think any of us have experienced prolonged thirst.
Here we parallel Ex 7 and the first plague turning the water to blood.
Also, here again we have the completion of the judgment of Rev 8;
10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters.
11 The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
Here again in the wrath of God, all fresh water is affected.
V5 -7 are kind of a commercial a break between the bowls of wrath the God’s judgement are just.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things;
6 for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it.”
7 And I heard the altar saying, “Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Notice, in V5 He says “Righteous are You, who are and who were,” some translations add “and shall be or is to come.” This was added by a translator as the Greek does not include it. The NASB has this correct, who are and were, perhaps the “is to come” is left off because at that time He is here.
Have you ever heard or maybe in the back of your own mind questioned the judgments of God. Like what about the pygmies in Africa what if they never hear will they go to hell? Many question God’s motives or fairness but notice, those closest to God in heaven, His Angels, or those mature in faith here on earth. They do not question God’s judgments.
The application is this: The more mature you grow in relation to Christ the less likely you are to question God’s Judgments”.
Notice verse 6 God often rewards in kind. The blood thirsty will be given blood to drink.
We continue;
7 And I heard the altar saying, “Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Here the altar speaks…This "speaking altar" may be God's altar - the cross, where His greatest sacrifice was made, and which here testifies of His righteous judgment, both in the past and soon to come. This is altar where God in His love offered a way of escape from these judgments.
Now its gets more intense;
8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.
9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.
V8 Fourth Bowl: the sun is given power to scorch people with fire. Have you ever had a real bad sun burn? It says they are seared by the intense heat.
It is interesting that Bill Gates is funding a project to put particles into the atmosphere to block the sun. The reason is stated as to reduced global warming but perhaps they are preparing for the end.

It is also important to note that everything about the design and position of the Earth is for man. If were just fractions farther away from the sun we would freeze, fractions closer we would fry. Perhaps here the sun moves closer or the Earth move closer. We will see..
Notice, The reaction is remarkable, they curse God and refuse to repent.
We will conclude with the next bowl,
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.
The Fifth Bowl: Darkness
Nobody I know likes darkness. It seems here though that this is not just the absence of light. This both a physical and spiritual, Tangible Darkness.Notice here that the darkness causes pain. It’s so intense, the Greek says that they were continually gnawed on their tongues.
The call of God has been continually to come out of darkness into the light. Those in darkness feel the pain but most do not come. Why?
19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Jesus spoke of a place called “outer darkness”. In the parable of the wedding feast a man was found without a wedding garment, a picture of trusting in His own righteousness, Jesus said of him;
13 “Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Those without the Christ, are destined to go into an eternity of darkness, in continual pain, without God.
The most frightening part is that they refuse to repent. In their agony they blaspheme God.
You see punishment never brings about repentance. I would beg you tonight, time is short, come to Him while there is time.
