Stop Looking at Yourself

The disciples were so self-interested that they ignored Jesus talking about beating death and raising from the dead.
“Humility is not looking less at yourself, but looking at yourself less.” C.S. Lewis
Don’t we get too focused on ourselves at the expense of our relationship with God?

Don’t be judgemental about other Christians without cause

Disciples just knew that others didn’t look like they did and tried to shut down their work.
Jesus told them that whoever isn’t against them is with them.
Don’t be so quick to judge other Christians just because they’re a little different.
HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that every belief is valid. There are right and wrong ideas about Christianity, but you have to know what people believe before you can judge it.
Be discerning, not blindly judging.
Instead of focusing on yourself or others, look to the cross.
Why do you think the disciples argued about who was greatest? What was the point?
Why is it important to understand someone’s beliefs before judging them?
How can you focus on yourself less and focus on God more this week?
