Introduction
There are so many different veiws on this subject that it wants to just make my head spin, so I decided to check the topic out for myself. I will use what I’ve learned in my studies on how to study. A good example is;
What does it say? Here I want to ask the 4-w’s and an H questions. This is an important step. I am to read the text in context. Read and re-read until I understand at least what the Verse, Paragaph or even chapter-maybe even mulitable verse’s from different books of the bible. I read and look for the Big Idea- the main big idea of what I am studying and read until I get what it is saying about the topic I want to know about.
What does it Mean? What does it mean to me after I understand better what the passage is saying. This is where thing get interpretted. Here’s where Study bibles and Commentaries etc. come in handy. But, big point-what good is it to know more knowledge, yet can’t figure out what it has to do with me? How does it effect my life and those around me? How would I be able to give people hope by what I just learned? With in-fact does it have to do with the FCF or the burden of the text that what help us know how to better live or to grow in the Lord Jesus better as we wait for His Coming or our time to go meet Him.
So there has to be a third step in bible study. This would be the,”So what bible study” I learded from Brian Chapble. The,”So what does this have to do with me” all this knowledge? The third step is call Application
Application-What does it mean to me & you? Here I need to ask the questions like,
why did the Holy Spirit put this in the bible?
what does know this help me be better for it?
How do apply this to my life and the lives around me?
What is the Holy Spirit saying directly to me about this passage?
Most important, how does what I learned give me hope? Rom 15:4 or direction 2 Tim 3:16-17
What does it Say? Rev 13:16-18
