Responsibility for God’s World

Introduction:
Good morning Teachers and Pupils!
How are you this morning?
Once again, this is Pastor Melcan.
I’m here to deliver God’s message for us through His Holy Word - the Bible.
Today is your Tri-weekly event and we are celebrating Earth Day Awareness and it’s really important for you and me to understand why we need to take care of God’s creation.
We get our passage from Romans 14:12
Let us all read together!
This verse is part of the Apostle Paul’s exhortation not to give bad judgement to other believers but instead to give help and encouragement to one another just as Jesus helped us.
We are responsible of our actions and God will demand accountability (a reporting) of everything we said and done. Accountability and responsibility.
This passage must warn us to be careful on how we treat other people and God’s creation.
Allow me to present to you 3 important RESPONSIBILITIES that God demands to all PEOPLE (not just for Christians)

1. Responsibility to God

To love God
Deuteronomy 6:4–5 NASB95
4 “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! 5 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

2. Responsibility to People

We are not to live for ourselves alone. We are to extend the love of God to other people...
To mutually honor each other
Romans 12:10 NASB95
10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
The responsibility of children to honor their parents
Ephesians 6:1–3 NASB95
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

3. Responsibility to God’s Creation

God’s owns the creation
Deuteronomy 10:14 NASB95
14 “Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
God loves the creation
Psalm 145:9 NASB95
9 The Lord is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.
Humans have the responsibility to exercise dominion over the animal kingdom and creation (stewardship)
Genesis 1:26 NASB95
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Command to care for the creation:
Genesis 2:15 NASB95
15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.
Consequences of Defiling the Land
Psalm 107:33–34 NASB95
33 He changes rivers into a wilderness And springs of water into a thirsty ground; 34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
Application:
Be a responsible human being by loving God, honoring other people, and taking care of God’s creation.
1. Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
Simply Start by putting your trash on trash bins, para dili moabot sa mga canal ug maka cause ug baha...
Do not burning plastics…which causes air pollution and damage to the ozone layer...
2. Conserve water. The less water you use, the less wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean.
3. Conserve electricity - switch-off appliances and lights when you are not using them...
4. Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change.
