Easter is important because,

Scripture Says It’s Absolute

It proves that Christ died for our sins (1 Cor 15:3)
It proclaims that Christ was raised from the dead (1 Cor 15:4)

The World Says It’s Foolish

According to the wisdom of the world, a crucified Messiah is utter foolishness. To the unsaved — one still dead in their trespasses and sins — the idea that the death of one man will pay for the sins of the world just doesn’t pass the common sense test. (1 Cor 1:18) It’s a crazy notion.
First, people generally believe that being a “good person” is good enough.
Second, if sin is a problem people grade their sins on a scale, where some are not as bad as others.
The bottom line, however, is people of the world fear death.
They fear death because of a lack of confidence in the Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:16–17 ESV
16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.

Testimony Says It’s True

The Resurrected Jesus appeared to the Twelve and to more than 500 people at one time!
The perfect tense and passive voice of the Greek verb translated “was raised” implies that since God raised Him He is still alive. Jesus’ Resurrection is an objective reality, and seeing how He is still alive even today we can trust what His Word tells us about our present and future:
First, all who believe the eyewitness testimony and the Word of the Gospel, their sins are forgiven them.
Second, the fact that Jesus’ resurrection is an objective reality and He is still alive, gives assurance that death from this life is not the final word — it is merely sleep until the last trumpet sounds.
1 Corinthians 15:51–57 NET
51 Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—52 in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
