2. There are a lot of works of the Lord’s church that need committed Christians.
A. My list is not exhaustive by any means.
B. It takes a lot of completely committed Christians for the church to function the way that God intends.
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
3. It is very import that we teach people to count the cost of becoming a Christian.
25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
A. The cost of becoming a Christian is being completely committed to the cause of Christ.
Body:
1. The Christians that were converted on the day of Pentecost understood being completely committed to Christ.
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

C. This continual study of God’s word brought about proper fear or reverence to God.
43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
D. This proper fear or reverence to God brought about love for one another.
44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
E. This great love for one another brought about an understanding that they needed daily fellowship with one another.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
F. All of these things together brought about spiritual growth in their lives and the church.

Conclusion:
1. Are you completely committed to the Lord?
A. When you are completely committed then...
1. Lost souls will be saved.
2. The worship services will prosper because you will be committed to taking care of it.
3. The functions of the church will prosper because there will be no lack excitement and attendance.
