Intro
Wonderful week of worship through Holy Week
Me:
Discouragement when we do not see movement.
Pile of wood that never seems to end.
My approach to composition and writing.
Impact some have had, in retrospect I realize many of these things they probably did not know/ remember
The Kingdom of God Moves
And I do not think that I am alone in this
We:
We often work hard or work a lot and dont always see what happens.
The unknown impact we have had on others, others have had on us.
But luckily for is, not only is God never discouraged, but he encourages us that His will is perfect.
God:
Luke 13:20–21 ESV
20 And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? 21 It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
Christ’s use of the parables
Context of this parable
paired with the mustard seed that grew and became a big tree
After is the parable of the narrow path
Leaven good vs bad-something that permeates the dough

Small Adjustments Makes Big Change

The amount of flour to the amount of Leaven
The disciples
Movement of the early church
Movement of a little to a lot
Galatians 6:9–10 ESV
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Ripples in the pond

Act Where We Can

Woman in the parable is not asking why bother.
God gave many to react
Woman making the cake for Elijah
Feeding the 500
SWBTS 1/2 Acre of Hell
Philippians 4:13 ESV
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
So what can we do with this parable
You:
Go and do. Do not be discouraged if you do not see an immediate result.
God will Leaven his Kingdom
We do not know what will result from our work.
Pentacost
Spurgeon
Dr. Fish
Now we can take these stories and chalk it up to the ‘greats’, but these are just well know examples of what God does.
We:
Go and do be the ripple. Trust in God that his Kingdom will move.
It is encouraging that God’s Kingdom is so powerful. It acts and moves when we do not see.
The Spirit moves in ways we cannot imagine
