OAK HILL BAPTIST CHURCH Christian Support Pastor Tyson Bloor Hebrews / Hebrews 12:12-17 Support Hebrews 12:12-13 NASB95 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Isaiah 35:3 NASB95 Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. Proverbs 4:26 NASB95 Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. This was true in their time and is true in our day as well, we study Romans 15 and Paul is speaking of the same thing, it was and is not just a local problem but a spiritual warfare problem that is attacking every church, every church member, and our division is on display for the whole world to see. Pursuit of Peace Hebrews 12:14 NASB95 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. The Consequences of Choice Hebrews 12:15-17 NASB95 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears. We are now introduced to three specific things we as believers are to avoid. 1) avoid failing to make use of the opportunities that God gives you 2) make sure there is no bitterness, it is a cause of poison to a whole community of believers 3) do not be sexually immoral or godless
