At least Jesus had his friends, right? At least some supported him, yeah? Nope. Many of them ran and hid, and no friend can follow you into death. It is a final separation – a final end to relationships. That is, unless there is life beyond death?! On Easter Sunday we will look at some of the friends of Jesus, not because they were better than his enemies (they weren't really), but because Jesus chooses to befriend them – it's all his initiative. And after his resurrection, we see his amazing love at work in restoring his friends and renewing his relationships. We can't claim to be good friends to Jesus, but we can claim to be good friends of him, thanks to his love for us.
