When Jesus came to earth as a Man and finished His work, He made it all pretty clear:
Believe in Him for everlasting life
Those who would follow Him
Deny self
Be ready to die to that self
Abide and remain in Him
Go
Make Disciples who make disciples
In other words
Know Him
Make Him known
In doing so
We discover that this is a lonnnng process
Marathon not a sprint
We tend to get these things distorted and twisted around
We lose sight of why we serve
Why we love others
Why church exists
John had been exiled to a rugged island called Patmos

After years of service
After all of the heartache and headache of working with and serving in a fallen broken world
With fallen broken people
We might excuse John if he had become a bit discouraged with his current state of affairs
Yet John was holding onto a truth
A truth that will enable us to
Refocus
Refresh
Renew
Revelation 1:7
7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
The Lord’s Glorious Appearing will occur in the clouds
In full view
Particularly in full view of the nation of Israel, who crucified Him
Worldwide mourning over their treatment of Him
Every person can gain a clearer picture of the glory of Jesus Christ by noting the following facts:
1. No Doubt as to Who He Is

“He is coming with clouds”
Clouds associated with God’s presence
Mount Sinai
Dedication of Solomon’s temple
Transfiguration
Clouds associated with Jesus’ return
Da 7:13
13 “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him.
Mt 24:30
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mk 14:62
62 Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
The fact that the Lord Jesus will be coming
But this will not be “under cover of darkness”
Rapture will occur like a ninja
This Glorious Appearing...
No doubt
Who He is

“every eye will see Him”
“even they who pierced Him”
Referring to Israel
Zc 12:10
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
Referring to Jews
Not necessarily the exact individuals who pushed for His crucifixion
But to the Jews/nation of Israel living at time of Lord’s return

“And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him”
Because they will see Him coming in the clouds
With all of that glory and authority
They will realize that all about the Lord that they had rejected as true really is true
That they were wrong
That He truly was an innocent Lamb who was killed on their behalf
That they will soon be judged upon this issue
Now What?
Now What?
The Lord Jesus’ return to earth will leave:
No Doubt as to Who He Is
The King of all kings
No mistake as to Where He Is
He will be clearly visible from every angle
No Question as to What It All Means
He was the One who was crucified by the world
He was the One who was rejected by His own
He will be the Center of Attention on that day
Phenomenon of The Chosen
Why it has meant so much to me
I see HIM
And then I remember that THIS
is about HIM
I matter
Because of HIM
And that YOU matter
Because of HIM

All of his plans and ambitions had gone south
Crying out to God under a fig tree
Encountered Jesus
“How do You know me?”
“Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you”
“Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
A year and a half ago
I was burning out
I wanted to quit
Yet the Lord summoned only a portion of His vast resources
People came into my life to speak into me
He provided Canada
Hundreds of people who did not know me were praying for me
In it, the Lord was saying to me,
“I see you”
“You need to see Me”
“but not necessarily with your physical eyes”
“One day, everyone will see Me with their physical eyes”
You discover more about how much you matter
When you know Him
Others discover how much they matter
When you make Him known
