During W.W. II, a Nazi war ship torpedoed a U. S. submarine and sunk it. A distress signal was immediately sent out from the sub. When another U. S. vessel got on the scene they spotted debris and oil on the water. They sent divers down to see if there were any survivors. The divers took their knives and tapped on the hull of the damaged vessel. They heard taps from the inside in Morris Code.

Is that not what the world around us is asking these days?
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
We talk a lot about faith and love but not so much about hope.
Next 4 weeks we will talk about Hope.
There are two different types of hope.
Ppl that don’t share our common faith, hope but their hope is more like a wish.
I hope it turns out ok, I hope I get a promotion
Ppl of faith Hope means something totally different.
Hope is not “I hope my team wins the Super Bowl” or “I hope I get a raise.” It isn’t wishing for the best. It isn’t waiting to see what happens and hope that it turns out well. Hope is not a feeling or an emotion. Hope is the knowledge of facts. If someone says to you that “I hope you have a good day,” there is no guarantee that the day will go well. To have a biblical hope is to have a sure anchor of the soul.
Human hope pales in comparison to biblical hope.
1. Biblical hope is not a hope-so but it is a know-so.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The God of Hope: This is a new title for God.

2. Because we have the God of hope, we should be filled.
Fill you: You have to be willing to be filled.

3. Because we have the God of hope, we should be filled with all joy.
Are you joyful?
Have you ever been around a Christ follower that is joyful even when it looks like everything thing is falling apart.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
4. Because we have the God of hope, we should have peace.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Being by the bedside of a Christ follower and the bedside of those that don’t know Jesus. Totally different.
It’s all about hope.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
5. Because we have the God of hope, we should have an overflow of hope.
Overflow,
Do you have Hope? With it you have a future, with out it you don’t .
A counselor once said if they have someone who is discouraged and if they can get just 10% more hope anything is possible.
Ppl focus to much on what they don’t have and not enough on what they could have.
