Fear Virus — Fear really can cripple you — Keep you from being who God has called you to be — Enemy can’t stop you.. so he’ll distract you — FEAR REALLY IS A VIRUS
2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
FEAR OF NOT BEING ENOUGH — OF FAILURE
WAYNE GRETSKY — Indianapolis Racers, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers— Considered the best. — YOU MISS 100% OF THE SHOTS YOU DON’T TAKE — Fear of Failure can keep us from even shooting
YOU START TO ANTICIPATE THE WORST… THAT MAY NOT EVER HAPPEN… SO YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING… SO THE WORST DOES HAPPEN
The enemy wants you to fear so much, that you may fail, so you just never do anything
A LOT OF TIMES THIS COMES FROM US BELIEVING THAT WE’RE NOT ENOUGH — I DON’T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES — IMPOSTER SYNDROME
is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud".[1] Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds, and do not deserve all they have achieved. Individuals with impostor-ism incorrectly attribute their success to luck, or interpret it as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent than they perceive themselves to be.
FEAR IS A VIRUS — IT WILL CRIPPLE YOU INTO NOT BEING WHAT YOU COULD BE — YOU WANT TO BE A GOOD PARENT — SPOUSE — EDUCATION — FAITH — QUIT THAT ADDICTION — THAT GENERATIONAL SIN — DEBT — BUSINESS
YOU’RE NOT ENOUGHIsn’t that encouraging… welcome to church.
Matthew 19:26 NLT
26 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
DON’T BELIEVE GOD CAN’T JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T

DAVID

1 Samuel 17:20–23 NLT
20 So David left the sheep with another shepherd and set out early the next morning with the gifts, as Jesse had directed him. He arrived at the camp just as the Israelite army was leaving for the battlefield with shouts and battle cries. 21 Soon the Israelite and Philistine forces stood facing each other, army against army. 22 David left his things with the keeper of supplies and hurried out to the ranks to greet his brothers. 23 As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, came out from the Philistine ranks. Then David heard him shout his usual taunt to the army of Israel.
GOLIATH — 40 DAYS — EVERYDAY NO ONE STEPPED UP — DAVID HAS CHOICE
JUST BECAUSE IT’S NEVER BEEN DONE DOESN’T MEAN YOU SHOULDN’T
1 Samuel 17:24 NLT
24 As soon as the Israelite army saw him, they began to run away in fright.

SO OFTEN WE USE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING AS THE BAROMETER FOR WHAT WE SHOULD DO.
HISTORY BOOKS AREN’T FILLED WITH PEOPLE WHO STAYED IN LINE — WHO DID WHAT EVERYONE ELSE DID — GOD’S KINGDOM HAS NEVER BEEN BUILT THAT WAY — GREAT HOMES HAVE NEVER BEEN BUILT THAT WAY
WHEN YOU STEP UP, IT MAY BE ALONE
When we started the church they said “Be ready to feel alone”
Because in the beginning you’re trying to set standards, and expectations, and levels of excellence, and vision that doesn’t make sense to people.
Too often you can use “I would be the only one” as a reason to back off.
// WHEN I LEFT FOR BIBLE COLLEGE — BROKE UP — FRIENDS DIDN’T GO — I KNEW NO ONE //
1 Samuel 17:25 NLT
25 “Have you seen the giant?” the men asked. “He comes out each day to defy Israel. The king has offered a huge reward to anyone who kills him. He will give that man one of his daughters for a wife, and the man’s entire family will be exempted from paying taxes!”
What I found out too is: when you step up others get offended
PEOPLE MAY NOT AGREE WITH YOU… AND THAT’S OKAY
1 Samuel 17:28 NLT
28 But when David’s oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!”

ELIAB WASN’T MAD BECAUSE DAVID WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG. HE WAS MAD BECAUSE HE WAS CONVICTED BY DAVIDS ABILITY TO TAKE A STAND FOR SOMETHING GREATER
1 Samuel 17:32–37 NLT
32 “Don’t worry about this Philistine,” David told Saul. “I’ll go fight him!” 33 “Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.” 34 But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, 35 I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. 36 I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! 37 The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!”
YOU’RE NOT ENOUGH BUT GOD IS.

45 David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 Today the LORD will conquer you

47 And everyone assembled here will know that the LORD rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the LORD’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword. 51 Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. David used it to kill him and cut off his head.

THAT SWORD IS YOUR TESTIMONY. I DIDN’T COME HERE WITH ONE… BUT I LEFT WITH ONE
