Introduction

Psalm 48:14 ESV
that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.

One guidance system beats them all

The quality and stability of your relationships will depend on what guidance system you choose to live by

Most of us would like to improve our relational skills, but no matter how hard we try, we keep veering off course by falling back into habits that damage our relationship with God and other people.
Romans 7:15–18 ESV
For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.
Because of his great love, God invites us to trade in our flawed ideas on how to live, to accept the gift of his kindness and forgiveness and to trust that he will provide us with the best system for navigating life and relationships.
Proverbs 3:5–7 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
Isaiah 30:21 ESV
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
He provides this guidance through his written Word, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, and through the teaching and counsel of his church.
God’s guidance system has proven its superiority over thousands of years. Those who trust in it have found a wisdom, righteousness, security and peace that is unmatched by anything the world has to offer.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
Luke 4:8 ESV
