The Time is Now

Its Time for the church to be the church.

Mark 16:19-20

19 When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 20 And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

Introduction:

Talk about studying the events after the resurrection. Walk through what happens.

Mary goes from his feet to an assignment. Yall remember! She was at his feet at the house. Marhta was like help me with the dishes or something(v.9)

Peter goes from going back fishing to fishing for men. (John 21:3)

Jesus visits 2 men walking away from the task. They are walking away from Jerusalem. He meets them and they return to assignment. (v. 12)

Jesus appeared to the disciples and reprimanded them for unbelief. (v.14)

What about us? It is time for the church to be the church! Here lies the problem. We are spending so much time trying to get back to having church, that we are missing the point that God has orchestrated a time for the church to be the church! The Time is now! Look at current events!

The time is now for the church to be the church. This is how!

Take the position (v.19)

Jesus has taken the promotion. It is time for the disciples to take their promotion.

It is time to step into what God has designed for you to do. And not just at church, but in the kingdom. The kingdom is more than church and it’s positions. The kingdom needs business owners, people that work in these businesses. The kingdom needs mentorships in the schools. The kingdom needs you in position for the final push! (Eph 2:10)

Thorough Proclamation (v.20)

The disciples preached everywhere! Your assignment is for the church, but is primarily for Monday through Saturday proclamation. The church growth on Sunday is a result of ministry happening Monday-Saturday (Acts 2:42-47).

Thoroughly Pliant (v.20)

The Lord worked through them. Don’t be Jonah! Don’t second guess what God has instructed you to do! The world needs you now. The Lord needs you to be thoroughly Pliant so that he can use you to change the system. We are apart of the new world order. It is called the kingdom.

Some of you will preach to 10000 at one time. Some of you will preach to 10000....one at a time.

Transforming Presence (v.20)

The work was confirmed through signs and wonders. You wanna see people healed, be the church. You wanna see people set free, be the church. The time is now. You wanna see the schools effected, be the church. You wanna see police reform, be the church. You wanna see Govt and political reform be the church. You wanna see your family transformed be the church. The time is now! We cant afford to wait! In the text, signs and wonders meant that change took place. The Time is now for the church to transform its community, its city, its stae, its country, and then its world!
