The New King James Version Chapter 2 :5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
Good Order - character, Proper arrangement
Steadfastness - ⇔ firmness n. — steadfastness understood as if being steady or securely and immovably fixed in place. that which has been made firm, a fortified place, metaphorically in a military sense: solid front
faith - trust (faith) n. — strong confidence in, and reliance upon, someone or something; moral conviction, a constancy in that conviction, assurance in that conviction.
Christ - the Anointed One, the Messiah, The Christ, a salve, to be rubbed on, used as ointment, Sense trust in the gospel n. — trust in Jesus as contained in the content of the Gospel.
Have received-to receive - paralambano (tradition) v. — to formally receive authoritative teaching (as from an approved source). to join to one’s self, to receive something transmitted, to learn from someone.
Lord - Kyrios - Lord, ruler, master, head, owner, One who commands, secure possessor, guardian.
so walk - to walk (behavior) v. — to live or behave in a specified manner. walk at large as proof of ability, Hebrew for, to live, to regulate one’s life, to conduct one’s self.
rooted - to be established ⇔ be rooted v. — to be established, conceived of as if a plant being or becoming fixed in the ground. cause a person or thing to be thoroughly grounded.
built up - to be built up ⇔ be constructed v. — to be or become nearer to fullness or completion (as of moral strength or one’s conscience); conceived of as being or becoming constructed further. to strengthen, build upon, pile up
established - to be established (settled) v. — to be or become settled securely and unconditionally (in or on something). confirm, strengthen, make good, secure, treat as valid, to receive more inner strength, to be strengthened in one’s heart.
faith - pistis - to be a believer.
you have been taught - to be instructed v. — to be or become informed of instructions or directions for some task. to instill doctrine into one, to explain or expound a thing.
abounding - to abound v. — to be abundant or plentiful; exist in large quantities. overflow, to exceed a fixed number of measure.
thanksgiving - thanksgiving (act) n. — the act of expressing gratitude or showing appreciation to someone. thankfulness. grateful language to God as an act of worship.
Beware - Discern, see, to watch carefully v. — to be vigilant, be on the lookout or be careful.
Cheat - to take control ⇔ loot v. — to become able to completely manipulate a person; conceived of as carrying someone away as plunder. To lead away captive, seduce, to enslave.
Philosophy - philosophical system n. — a belief or system of philosophical beliefs accepted as authoritative by some group or school. Human wisdom , love of wisdom, zeal or skill in any art or science or branch of knowledge or theology.
empty - empty (vacuous) adjs. — devoid of significance, point, or benefit. Foolish, stupid, in vain.
Deceit - deception (act) n. — causing someone to believe an untruth. Trick, fraud, delusion.
Tradition - tradition n. — a specific practice (of long standing) handed down from respected authorities. Teaching, transmission (from one to another), handing over or transfer, to bequeathing
of men - person (finite) n. — any human being considered according to their finitude in contrast to the transcendent supernatural.
Basic Principles - rudimentary principles n. — the elementary stages of any subject. from the root word meaning to proceed in a row as the march of a soldier, go in order, to turn out well.
world - world system n. — the people constituting the world whose values, beliefs, and morals are in distinction and rebellion to God’s.
Christ - The Anointed One, The Messiah, salve, rubbed on, used an ointment.
