Christ Right to Rule

Last week we looked at The Devine Right to Rule. and how a king was given this position based on the idea that God had called them to the post. and that their job was to improve the lives of the subjects. (In our case the lives of our Lord’s children) The king was to due what was best for the kingdom and the subjects. Because he has The Right to Rule.
We also said that God has rescued us from Satan’s kingdom and there fore we are made free in our Lord and Savior. Who is our Heavenly Father, our King of Kings. Colossians 1:13-14 He has put in place and is putting in place the proper leadership to manage his monarch. Therefore he has set-up The Realm to Rule. (His church) We have proper leadership in church and we are governed by our King. King Jesus. The Lord of His Kingdom.
We said we have an assignment from our King to expand His kingdom, to expand His realm. There would be a fight because no king is allowing you to just walk in to his kingdom and over take it and its citizens. When we pray there is movement in the spiritual realm because we are praying in the natural realm. This is important because it moves God when we ask Him to have his way in His kingdom.
Matthew 6:10 NLT
10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Which brings us to the point of the reality of rule.

Definition of reality

1: the quality or state of being real.
2a(1): a real event, entity, or state of affairs.
(2): the totality of real things and events.
But the greek definition Hypostasis is so important because it looks at reality and says the truth or fact, foundation, support or substance.
Hebrews 11:1 NCV
1 Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.
The Psalmist says:
Psalm 145:13 GW
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your empire endures throughout every generation.
That word every here is an important word, it means that when all the other generations come and go, when all the other kingdoms come and go, God’s individual kingdom will not come and go. It will sustain. It will be established eternally. If His kingdom is established eternally then we are as well. Look at what Jesus says to the disciples.
Matthew 16:19 NLT
19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
In other words we are given the authority under his kingship to make decisions. allow you in to places that you don’t have access to without them. So as the king when Jesus releases the keys to us, we have access to his kingdom here on earth and in heaven. Se this is powerful in that even though God has not taken back His World completely yet, he still as the rightful King can do as he pleases after all He has the divine right to rule and If the exercise of authority is not in view, the concept of kingdom is not present.
But before we even ask God to release on earth as it is in heaven we must come to grips with an understanding that Jesus is telling us to focus on God first before yourself. All prayers, first of all, willingly submits to God’s purposes, plans, and glory.
Matthew 26:39 NLT
39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
The reality of rule looks at things from God’s perspective and not our own. It is not self gratifying. It is not out for self but it is out to please the king. It ask the question; my Lord what do you want to do?
When I counsel single people I always ask; why do you want to be married? And as soon as I hear; well see Pastor I want a spouse so that I can, so that they can. I stop them right there. (Buzzer sound) Wrong answer.
Because it’s not that you can’t have a desire, but you have to put your desires behind others that you say you love.
If you love God stop asking him to be a vending machine, where you stick in some pocket change of prayers and make your request expecting Him to just pop out what you’ve selected. You may be sadly mistaken one day when the request you’ve made gives you a different result or just doesn't come when you want it.
Talk about the home depot break room vending machines. (2 mins)
Listen if you love him look at
Romans 8:28 CEV
28 We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose,
Listen you say you love Him? Then trust Him. God has never let you down and even if you think He has, I’m sorry friend that’s your own misconception.
Let tell you what God’s will does not look like:
A college Sophomore was in need of a car and had a series of dreams one night and everything was in yellow, everything! Early the next morning he began to hit the used car lots, looking at one car after another. Finally he found God’s will for him: a yellow car, yellow inside and out. He didn’t even ask to drive it. He just bought it. Turned out to be a lemon.
James 4:3 CEV
3 Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons.
Listen God knows best what we are in need of. He promises to take care of our every need. But we have to become dependent on him in all matters. You would never go to the kings court and say your highness, thank you for inviting me to your court it is such an honor to be here! But your spread. Mmmm not really my choice on the menu. Way to much fatty foods for me. I’m on a diet and your going to make me fail. No! You would get tossed out! Probably get tossed in the dungeons! or worse! Why because he has the say so. Not you. Just be glad your in his presence.
Psalm 51:11 CEB
11 Please don’t throw me out of your presence; please don’t take your holy spirit away from me.
Listen I want to close with this God is sovereign, He loves you more then you’ll ever understand and he knows what best for us.

There was a man who gave his business to God. He had hassled over it for years. He had wrestled with it and fought it for two decades. One day he decided, “I’ve had it; that’s enough!” He had heard from his pastor that Sunday morning about the value of turning his entire business over to God. It was when he drove away from church that he decided he had worried enough. By the time he got home, he had totally and unequivocally committed his business to God.

That very night his place of business caught on fire. He got an emergency call. He rather calmly drove down to the commercial residence and was standing on the street, watching the place go up in flames. He was sort of smiling to himself. One of his colleagues raced to his side and questioned his relaxed attitude about what was happening. “Man! Don’t you know what’s happening to you?… It’s … it’s burning up!”

He replied, “I know it. I know it. No problem, Fred. This morning I gave this company to God, and if He wants to burn it up, that’s His business.”

Proverbs 16:9 NLT
9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
I want to close with this poem, listen carefully.

He writes with characters too grand

For our short sight to understand;

We catch but broken strokes, and try

To fathom all the mystery

Of withered hopes, of death, of life,

The endless war, the useless strife—

But there, with larger, clearer sight,

We shall see this—His way was right.

Let’s Pray.
