Colossians 3:14–15 ESV
14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Peace is assured with faith in Christ

Jesus calms our fears

John 14:1 KJV 1900
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Belief or Faith in Jesus will foster Peace

John 14:27 KJV 1900
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

One of the reasons Jesus came is to bring Peace

Luke 1:79 KJV 1900
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 2:14 KJV 1900
14 Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men.

Peace. Total well-being, prosperity, and security associated with God’s presence among his people. Linked in the OT with the covenant, the presence of peace, as God’s gift, was conditional upon Israel’s obedience. In prophetic material, true peace is part of the end-time hope of God’s salvation. In the NT, this longed-for peace is understood as having come in Christ and able to be experienced by faith.

Peace is with us but we have to receive it through Faith.

John 16:33 KJV 1900
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We must understand that He “Jesus Christ” is our Peace.

Ephesians 2:14–17 NIV
14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

Because He’s our Peace, Peace should rule our thoughts and Attitude.

Colossians 3:15 KJV 1900
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Peace in this Scripture has a sense of Tranquility; the quality or state of being calm.

Philippians 4:6–7 KJV 1900
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Rule has a sense of govern; conduct the policy, actions, and affairs of.

Our actions and responses should be those of Peace.

1 Corinthians 7:15 KJV 1900
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

Peace is the New Attitude God is calling for

Colossians 3:15 KJV 1900
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
