Prayer for President-Elect Barak Obama

Father,

We come to you in the name of Your Son, Jesus.

Thank You for these tithes and offerings—for sustaining Your work here at Harvest Bible Chapel.  We pray that You will use them to further Your glory in our lives and Your work through us as Your church.

Father, we pray for our nation tonight.  We pray for our new president-elect, Barak Obama.  Your word says in Proverbs 21:1 that “the king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever he will.”  Therefore we place our trust in You, our eternal King, for we know that You alone are everlasting to everlasting and You will work Your purposes to completion. 

Even so, Lord, we pray for Mr. Obama and we ask You

to protect him, spiritually, physically and emotionally, as he serves as president.  We also pray that his eyes will be opened to Your truth.  Please guide him to find wise counsel and give him discernment to do what is right

Lord, we pray for Pastor Rick as he brings to us Your word.  Even now, please surround us with Your spirit that we may be ready to receive Your instruction.

These things we pray, in the name of Your Son,  Jesus Christ, amen.
