Breathing Life Into Faith

New Living Translation Chapter 2

Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

James 2:26 NLT

Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

Faith without works is Belief without Action.

FAITH COMES TO LIFE THROUGH ACTION!

A statement of faith in our brain does not equal a conviction in our heart.

Jesus taught that what goes into a man is not as important as what comes out.

For what comes out of man comes from his heart.

BREATHING LIFE INTO FAITH

PRODUCES RIGHTEOUSNESS

ELIMINATES SIN &

GLORIFIES GOD

Faith, when acted upon, produces righteousness.

This is what separates the law from faith.

Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Breathing life into faith eliminates sin!

Romans 8:11–14 NASB95

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Breathing life into faith brings glory to God!

This is what we were created for!

This is what He saved us for!

John 15:8 NLT

When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

Example of faith glorifying God through Abraham!

James 2:21–23 NASB95

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.

CHRISTIANS ARE NOT A BETTER CLASS OF LOSERS!

We are saints of God! God makes saints out of sinners!

We are the Blood Bought church!

We are a chosen generation!

We are a City on a hill that you can’t hide!

We are the Salt of the earth!

We are the glory of our heavenly Father!!

Let the redeemed of the Lord “LIVE SO!”
